What month and day were you born? Ah, I can see it in the stars. You are a handsome/beautiful person, you struggle occasionally with finding your car keys but you eventually find them where you left them last. When Mars and Uranus are aligned good fortune will find you. (How close was I with all this?)

Lets look at the definition and then a few aspects of Astrology. I consulted the ol' Google dictionary for the definition:

Is it a steaming pile of BS?

Something can be said about people's temperaments and what sign the fall under. I'm an Aries born on April 2nd. According to article above I'm...
"Assertive and forceful, Mars influences your incredible drive and determination, Aries. You're amazingly active and always on the go, due to this planet's energetic characteristics. Bold and competitive, you will not stop until you achieve your dreams. Seriously, nothing will prevent you from getting where you want to be in life, and that's all thanks to the powers of Mars watching over you." These are actually fairly true about me. So it's not complete poppycock. I always knew Mars had a thing for me.

The bullshit comes when people use the astrology to predict the future. You've seen them in newspapers and online...the HOROSCOPES.

Here's my horoscope for today from Horoscopes.com: "A contract of some kind, perhaps involving the home, might need some careful consideration today, Aries. You could find it a little difficult to understand, as it could be full of fine print and legalese. Don't be afraid to ask someone with a little more savvy to explain what you're trying to read. It's important that you know all the ins and outs before signing anything, for your own peace of mind, if nothing else."

Here's my horoscope for today from Astrology.com: "Even if it's been a long day already, and it probably has been, with the heavens in the erratic, spontaneous and impulsive mood they're in, your usual bedtime won't feel like bedtime. Rather than lying there, trying to think of some way to make yourself tired before dawn arrives and the birds start singing (which will sound much more like screaming, at that point), how about giving in and planning something that will tire you out? Oh, you'll think of something."

One is kind of specific and the other fairly generic. The specific one is bull caca. No one from the NHL has asked me to sign any contracts. I ain't gettin' any younger NHL guys! The generic horoscope is...well general. Who the hell doesn't have nights where they have trouble falling asleep? You can predict that I won't fall asleep but not what I'll do to remedy it? B.S.

But as you can see both horoscopes are completely different and if I looked at more horoscopes written for me today they'd be all different from each other as well.
