Steemit: usefull or not

in truthaboutsteemit •  7 years ago

As a new steemit user and early member of the steemit community, the authenticity of this site clouds my thoughts and poses many unanswered questions that maybe some other members can answer. Is there really good people out there that created this site for the sole purpose of what they say or is this anither money seeking scam that only benefits the benefactors? Can this really earn me as much money as they claim, and if so, who oays me? Many unanswered questions from a mew user...

I was recommended to this site by a good friend from YouTube and his main point was "If you expect to make a lot of money you wont, but you will make good friends and get good crypto advice".

According to him the money only comes if you post a lot, engage with the community with interesting topics and gain a standing. Influence is everything. It helps to be popular in other social media platforms as a lot of users bring people over.

I just signed up yesterday and im digging it. The money will come with time. If you're trying to get rich quick I dont think this is the place for you man.

But if you're trying to meet cool people and get solid advice, id say its just as good as money!

Im new here too, maybe we can stick together and start a revolution!!

That would be nice

So far, I have had a good time and good convos here....looking forward to what will come of it all.

Hey and you also do music!

About where the money comes from: New Steem is created everytime miners create a new block. Unlike Bitcoin where the rewards for a block go to the miners, Steem distributes part of the reward to people who post or upvote content.

About whether Steem is a scam: The creators of Steem own a large portion of the total supply of Steem. The developers could simply be slowly cashing out their Steem, or they could sincerely want to improve the platform.
