Hi fellow Steemians, I have just pulled some of my Ginger and Tumeric from the garden, I'd like to show you how and why I choose to grow it.
Spice Up Your Health By Growing Ginger and Turmeric
Both turmeric and ginger are perennials that reshoot every spring.
As both turmeric and ginger grow from root rhizomes, growing them in your own garden is simple and straightforward proving you don’t live in a cold climate.
Buy some roots from your vegetable shop, select a small rhizome with one or two buds and plant them 20 to 25 centimetres apart in well-prepared wet soil six to seven centimetres deep.
Shoots should appear in around 25 to 40 days from planting. They thrive in direct or indirect sunlight. Alternatively, both grow well in pots on balconies and terraces provided you can provide them with warmth and moisture.
Turmeric and its spicy, pungent cousin ginger are traditional root herbs long valued in traditional medicine for their health giving qualities. Both spices come packed with health-giving vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

So easy to grow guys and the flowers are beautiful, with health benefits like i have listed you can't go wrong.

My doc has me taking turmeric curcumin for back pain. It helps! Maybe I should start growing some as well. 😗
Also, ginger tea is good for when allergies come in.

I've recently started adding turmeric to my meals, because of all the research coming out showing how healthy it is. (Especially its anti-cancer properties.)
Apparently, when eaten with black pepper, its absorption is increased many times.
I would love to start growing it myself. Probably even healthier to eat!

Yes, its great to grow your own, a feeling of satisfaction. It lasts well in a basket in a dark place, or just give it to your friends.
