Magical turning behavior

The ocean is a magical place. There are all kinds of magical phenomena in the ocean. There are boundless sea water, inexhaustible resources, and countless animals.

What we are going to talk about today is an interesting phenomenon about animals in the ocean.

In recent research in the marine field, scientists have made a new discovery. Through observations, they discovered that many animals in the ocean are performing a strange circular motion, just like a dog spinning in a circle.

Scientists first discovered this behavior in sea turtles, and later discovered that these large marine mammals such as sea lions and seals also have similar behaviors. Including the penguins we know well.

After that, scientists discovered that many animals have similar behaviors, all of which are carried out at a relatively stable speed, moving in circles over and over again.

This phenomenon may indicate that these behaviors will have a certain impact on the animals themselves, and may be a benefit or a catharsis.

Some scientists have hypothesized that it may be foraging. However, for animals that prey, linear motion is generally the best and most efficient way to prey, not in circles.

This circling behavior will greatly reduce its efficiency, and it seems a bit funny.

However, through research, scientists have found that this behavior of turning in circles seems to have a certain relationship with foraging.

There are four tiger sharks near Hawaii that have been designed with markings. The four tagged tiger sharks were all observed, and they made a total of 272 rounds of foraging places.

In subsequent observations, with more data support, it was discovered that the behavior of turning in circles seemed to have no direct relationship with foraging.

Some scientists have suggested that this may be a navigational behavior. It may be that animals cannot find their nests. Through this behavior, they can find their own course. This guess comes from scientists' observations of sea turtles.

On the way back to the nest, the three turtles got lost and yaw, so it turned frantically for nearly forty times and successfully returned to the correct course.

There is currently no solid evidence to prove this kind of speculation, so the truth is still unclear. What is the reason for it, I believe it will not take long to know, let us wait and see.
