Burstcoin Solo Mining Experiment and Monitoring Burst and Ether

in tutorial-trail •  6 years ago  (edited)

Hello Friends!

solo experiment burst.png

Ok so in this screenshot you can see a small experiment of mine in Burstcoin Solo mining.
Now at that time I had 26858 GB or 26.8 TB, now I have over 38 TB.
I started the program for 3-4 hours and then I checked my screen to see my stats and this is what I saw.
My chance to find a block started from 0.005% and went up to little bit over 0.009%

It was a good experiment but of course this is still not a viable solution for the moment for me.

Monitoring the Burstcoin Mining Pools

Now just write the burst mining pool in your web search bar, for me it was this one:

https://50-50-pool.burst.cryptoguru.org/

Ok so in this image you can see that my effective mining is increasing slow but sure, now it is over 36 tb and soon it will be the actual 38 tb.

burst monitoring.png

At the time that I was monitoring my rig I saw Crypto Froggie or @kirakero (I hope I got here account right she made very good videos on burstcoin mining on youtube)

crypto froggy.png

At the time of making this post I saw 1tb increase so that is great !

alter ego.png

For GPU mining you can use these sites:

https://whattomine.com/coins

There you can put ou gpu-s and see what is the estimated profit and most profitable coin to mine-

My card is rx 570 and calculation:

eth.png

eth2.png

I can say that the calculation is accurate in my case

Now I also made some changes to increase my hashrate from 14.2 Mh/s on ether mining to 15.2 15.3 Mh/s

I wrote in my previous post that I experimented claymore dual ether/dered miner.
I Noticed that decred had a very big difficulty and so I deleted it from the STAR.BAT file

Now the command for START.bat is as follows:

EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eth-eu.dwarfpool.com:8008 -ewal 0xD69af2A796A737A103F12d2f0BCC563a13900E6F -epsw x

This makes the dual miner into a simple ether miner.
Please notice that ewal 0xD69af2A796A737A103F12d2f0BCC563a13900E6F is just and example wallet address and you will have to put your own address.

The wallet started to mine ether just fine and in few seconds I got some shares

simple mining claymore.png

simple mining claymore 2.png

zero.png

In this screenshot you can see my shares

shares.png

Now for education purposes only I share with you also how much 15 MH/s of Ether mining will cost on trusted cloud mining sites:

15 mh hashflare.png

On Hashflare a 15 MH/s contract for 1 Year will be 270 $ currently one of the cheapest. (But for the moment is limited)

ccg.png

On CCG Mining a 15 MH contract for 2 Years will be 419.85 $

Pros and cons

Pros

On both companies there is NO maintenance for ether mining.

Cons

Limited time
Different prices

Now if you have at home a ether miner and mine in a pool.

  • You help the ether ecosystem
  • the gains are virtually unlimited (as your miner will be alive)
  • can stop at any moment and re purpose the gpus or sell them for better ones to build a better miner.
-CAN find a block and have a big split of the rewards.

Cons:

Noise
Heat
mental stress ( if you are close to the miner...or God forbid it is actually in your room)
electric bill

Excellent article @cynetyc !
I see Hashflare still has very cheap and competitive prices .

As always a great article there @cynetyc...a bit to tech for me but still a great and respectable contribution.

Awesome tutorial video! Burstcoin Solo Mining is best, that really experiments. Thankyou for telling us! Always appreciated your hard work!

Pretty impressive guidance of Burstcoin. Well explained here by you and understand easily. Thanks @cynetyc.

Hello @cynetyc, I love everything related to cryptocurrencies, here in Colombia, electricity is very expensive, mining at least for me, it is not possible.
You know, I'm dedicated to my investments, I love Cardano, I have faith in this project.
Happy day :)

@cynetyc, It's being awesome lesson who want to begin burstcoin mining. Something hard to understand me. But informative. Nice you decided to share community.

But is there a way for me to calculate the likelihood of me coming up with a deadline which is less than 30 days for instance?

This has to be based of my total plot size and current network difficulty i guess.

I’m just trying to make sense of it. Because I see from my DL im offering now is anything from 30 days to 4-5 months. If I were to join BURST Ninja with a DL of max 24H I dont see myself ever getting any burst.

Usually a deadline can be a default of the pool as it is in the qbundle wallet.
It can be changed ...but the best way that I know is to increase the plot sizes (HDD) And it will be just fine.
If you do that you can see day by day that your shares will grow .
Or...if it is too much stress...at the current moment you can sell on Ebay the HDD and then you can just buy some burst ..like this you have a lot more coins that just if you would mine them.
Any step in my view will be a good step...and remember if you are not sure ...just do what is best for you.

To do the mining must be smart in predicting so it will gain profit, because the price is very volatile, to avoid losses ..
A very good post @cynetyc

I know what happened in burst community, the good and the bad.
I support and love this coin...if they will abandon it...I will run it on my own private servers/pool.

But

Like always I just want to share my experience....there (at this moment) far more profitable coins out there like ether and Monero.
Monero has done a great thing by making a fork to not let ASICs mine it and I respect that.

I had a great time mining it and respect your opinion, like many coins I do not know what will happen in the future with it but as I see it a miner build can be re-purposed to mine another coin:

  • siacoin (hosting/mining)
  • storj (mining)
  • file coin (hosting )
There will always be new opportunities if someting bad happens to burst and if that will happen I will do my best to help the miner community from burst to find another solutions.
There is a movement even from my country for burstcoin...and they grown alot...even have a pool there:
    Burstcoin.ro ( I think).

Great post sir. 😊💙
Amazing tutorial of burstcoin.
You have a great knowledge sir.
Great analysing chart.
I appreciate your work.
Wish you a great success.

Nice content.
Very well articulated.
Excellent job.

Thanks @cynetyc for sharing this post.

I had $ 200 Hashflare hire in January. It's very lucrative. Thank you for sharing. I hope you get a good income @cynetyc

This is helpful for those who want to burscoin mining, really great information. Keep it up good work

Exclusively better part of another tutorial. Awesome contribution. Prefer to see these post. Perfectly introduction @cynetyc.

@cynetyc Can someone spare a BurstCoin BURST-Y38H-EUTF-LT2X-6RUP4. I cant start mining because its really difficult to get a burstcoin in 2018. Thanks!

You can earn some free burstcoins here on these faucets:

https://burstfaucets.com/

If you see errors or missing/depleted burst from faucets contact the owners on https://www.burstnation.com/
You will recive burst like this for sure also...if you post there you can earn also vburst witch can be exchanged into burst.
Happy Mining!

That's perfect tutorial post of burstcoin mining.
Thanks for priceless effort @cynetyc. So valuable to steemians.

You improve your capacity to mining burst and that's great we have to try different procces to get more profit for sur, about the contract CCGC is safe?. Regards

It is true that CCG has big prices and big maintenance fees but it is indeed a trusted site with real miners and people from Poland.

Dude I tried and it started mining...then I went back like 3days later and it stopped mining...It looked like I needed to re-plot and start all over again...not sure if It stops once you turn off the phone. @cynetyc great tutorial. Thanks for share

That is very interesting @shihabieee!

But , I suggest not to mine the coin on a phone..sure it is theoretically possible and the Burst community even made a small android miner for this....

But...

The profits are very low for an android phone even combined with a small miner.
At this moment the best way to mine it is to have a PC and connect few HDD ( at least 5-10 tb).

thanks a lot for sharing such a nice & informative post..
like it..👌👌👌

I recently tried the creep miner just for kicks and I quite like it.
You have to read the manual and experiment to find the right config in regards to how many threads to use, because otherwise it is painfully slow. But once I got that dialed in it is consistenlty about up to 10s faster than blagominer, at least for me. I have an old amd 6 core and I set it to 4 reader threads and 5 verify threads. This produced the shortest scan times for me. If someone has some tips for the settings I’d like to hear them.
(I still can’t run the newest version of blago because it crashes for me, even with showwinner disabled)

What I really like is the documentation on github, also it has nice features like the web site wich is like a mini pool info site.
Not saying it is better, but it works differently from blago miner and I think depending on the setup it might be faster or slower. Definitely worth a try if you like tinkering with stuff.

I will most certain look into it also ..
I use blago miner for a very long time now and if there is any error on newer versions roll back and install it again..
For example you installed it and has an error..maybe canot open local wallet...
First use maria DB and make sure all the wallet is 100% in synch.
If it still not working...re-install and copy and paste a backup of the program. (more acurate all the blockchain downloaded from official burst site or synced by you)

It should work like this...I had also problems in the past with one version or 2...but now for my mining rig I use windows 10 and for some time now no more errors.

Burstcoin mining is good. The only bit I don't like is plotting the drives. I found the 4TB external drives that don't need a power lead seem to be the best to use but they're a bit small. The only other coin I've liked mining is Biblepay, it's easy to mine that using the CPU and Burstcoin at the same time. I can mine 3 coins at the same time using the GPU but that isn't a good option in the UK, as electricity is expensive.

Burstcoin mining working slow but it's sure and my thoughts it's also profitable as sometimes real mining working slow and then faster. I appreciate your wonderful mining tutorial as it's very helpful for us to mine burstcoin. Thanks a lot sir @cynetyc for the valuable mining tutorial.

Nice article,,,
This solo mining experiment is so well,,

Blago CPU miner may also help on it,,,
Thanks for sharing,@cynetyc

A fine review and this method of coin mining deserves special attention! Thank you @cynetyc

Yeah mining in the start work in slow manner but after some days it will gain speed. I think burstcoin mining will gain more attention in future.

uperb man well-done prices vary a lot great tutorial keep sharing with us 💖💖💖💖

fascinating and well detail articles, your explanation is straight to the point and well understood . nice and well informative post @cynetyc

Well you are trying this type of mining and you have over 38 Tb

thank you @cynetyc sir for informative post itsreal;ly helpfull

Mining is done through an ongoing series of rounds to create and add new blocks to the blockchain. This process serves as the engine that confirms and archives all transactions on the Burstcoin network. Its continued operation is of vital importance to the utility of Burstcoin, which is why miners are continually rewarded by participating in this system.

Wow really greet tutorial my dear friend and very good lesson.

Mining is giving tough time to understand it but you did a great job which is informative for all of us. Thanks

I have done burst for a year and it is not profitable. it may look that way at times but when you look at who is running it, everything becomes clear. Adam "Gober" who has been sued by FB for millions of dollars and lost and ran to Canada to avoid paying has control. the coin has been out for a while and has only grown cause of the gambling factor that adam implemented, it has other avenues of use but they have been shut down or abandoned to a slow death. the gambling may sound good but the fact that gambling is the only real use of this coin lends truth to the fact that this coin is going no where fast. But if you don't believe me do your own research.

burstcoin good The bit drive is made to plot. I think the 4TB exterior drives have been found which are not needed in a power range, but they are a bit smaller. I can do 3 coins at the same time using Grameenphone but it is not a good option in the UK because the electricity is expensive.

Keep experimenting its all about that and you are achieving the success keep going :)
