Here a quick tutorial how to use VLC for watch tv online (... only the free tv):
A) First of all we need to google "tv online streams" and click on one of the results;
B) Select and copy the link of the stream you want to watch;
C) After launching vlc, at the top-right, click on "Media" and select "Open network flow";
D) Past the link in the barr and click "play";
E) ... enjoy your watching :-)
