Steemit will not allow me to edit the post, but I want to update that I have now used Coinbase several times and have had mostly good experiences with it. Because it is so easy, it might be the go-to for beginners who don't want to mess with it much. Buying it and leaving it with Coinbase is not as secure as holding your own crypto, but you minimize your risk if you transfer it to your wallet quickly after buying it.
