17 years without TV

in tv •  7 years ago

I just realised that I'm living without TV for 17 years now. And I'm not missing anything.

The thing is this:
If something is important it always makes it on to the internet, and if it is bullshit then for a long time it didn't get much attention online, but this is changing and at a very fast pace. Alarming fast.

The bullshit machine is automated and there is no captcha bullshit mechanism to slow it down.
In fact the captcha's are slowing humans down but the bullshit-bots are getting ever faster.

How long will it take for me to disconnect the web? Will that even be an option?

Nowaday's you can't even do banking without the net.
And with crypto currencies it's even worse they don't even live offline.

How can a human live without being subjected to the web?

What is wrong with crypto currencies?
What has to be done to fix this?
When will it be fixed?

I'm almost ditching my smartphone, i only have a phone so my mom can call me. And for the rest The thing is a pain in the neck. I often forget to charge it, and it's so damn old that it's no longer up to date.

Well, lets see what's next.

I still like technology, even though it sucks.

Nice one......I have not watched TV in at least 7 years.....loving my freedom :) Peace.

why watch on specific hours if you have an internet at any given time. :-)

A friend of mine has no tv because he says there is so much rubbish on Tv. While I completely agree with him on the amount of crap to be seen there is still some gold to be found there and I would never cut myself off just because of this. TV is just like music , literature , Art and other media. You just have to enjoy the good stuff

The problem was that i had to save money, and TV is very expensive. And you don't really have a choice. The media pre-chews your limited choice. And the media also poisons that very limited choice with a plethora of annoying ads.

So you pay money, to not really have a choice and get 50% of your precious time wasted by ads.

For me the choice was simple. Cancel the cable account and not only gain money, but also gain half a lifetime of time.
