Drug Lords (netflix series) - El Chapo edition

Like many of you no doubt, I don't pay much attention to the news because I don't believe they can be trusted. I had heard a lot going on about El Chapo, but to be honest I really didn't know much about him. So when I saw that the Netflix series Drug Lords had an episode about the dude, I may as well learn something.

I quite like documentaries and in particular, ones that are about drugs. I have always been fascinated by this industry and I think a lot of other people are as well because there are so many shows and movies about exactly that.

El Chapo, as you may know, was one of the all time heavyweight champions of this game. He was surpassed in power and wealth perhaps only by the infamous Pablo Escobar. Operating out of Mexico, he was able to elude capture over the course of many years by a combination of paying off the corrupt officials and also by being an extremely ruthless leader.

The really amazing thing about El Chapo is that it was discovered that he was a master of making tunnels and this was initially how it was possible that he was able to so effortlessly move drugs across the boarder into the the United States through a series of tunnels that extended several miles.

No matter where he was it seemed as though tunnels were part of his game including an amazing break out from a prison where a tunnel was built that was big enough to accommodate a high speed escape on a motorcycle.

The Netflix docu-series portrays all of this information in a very entertaining fashion and I really feel as though I learned something by the end of it. I found this series to be more entertaining than a vast majority of the films that I watch. If you have Netflix (pretty much everyone does, right?) I think this series, and this episode in particular (Season 2, episode 1) is definitely worth the 48 minutes or so.

Therefore it is only befitting that the episode receive the coveted C.N.S.O.A

The reason why I love the series is that it's somewhat revealing, in the sense that it helps to really mirror the life of the man who eluded capture for many years and also shed light on some of his activities, I love the facts rhetorics on their concept, it's totally thrilling I swear. Definitely worth that 48 minutes.

Greetings, @gooddream. I'm not a fan of this kind of themes developed in movies or series. However, I know the Chapo by the news that flooded the Latin American and world television talking about him and his amazing actions. I'm curious about this review that you share with us and I'm going to see those 48 minutes that you recommend.

El Chapo is a genius and a very bad guy ... but unfortunately he uses his intelligence for the bad ... Narcotics destroys the younger generation and destroys the country. I hate Narcotics criminals.

When I was in Vegas a couple of weeks ago we went to the Mob museum and even though it was focused on the mob they talked about all forms of organized crime. They had a diorama setup that showed how El Chapo escaped from prison. I didn't get a picture of it, but it was still really interesting to see.
