Some brief reviews.

Strange New Worlds, Season 2, episodes 6-10.

This is still very good. But there are noticeably more plotholes than in Season 1. Moreover, too many "character" episodes and not enough attention to big moral/political issues of the sort Trek is known for. When the latter do get addressed (as in the episode with the Klingon defector), there are more plot holes than usual. Also, too much attention to relationships that we know are Doomed-by-Canon (Laan-Kirk, Spock-Chapel). There are still many great scenes and interesting moments. Just not up to the standards of Season 1. The season finale suggests Season 3 may be better, Perhaps even like the excellent Season 6 of Deep Space 9 (which also features an ongoing war and the moral/political questions that raises).

Outlander, Season 7, first half.

This series is close to jumping the shark. The main characters are already pretty fully developed over many episodes, so not much happening on the character front. The series also doesn't get much out of the setting of the American Revolutionary War. They could use that to explore some interesting issues, as they did with the Jacobite Rebellion in earlier seasons. But the writers simply fail on this score. Not sure if this is the showrunners' fault (I have great respect for Ronald D. Moore, who also worked on DS 9 and the "reimagined " Battlestar Galactica), or a flaw in the original novels by Diana Gabaldon (which I still haven't read).

Ahsoka, Episodes 1-2.

Decent. But below my expectations. Ahsoka Tano is one of my favorite characters in the Disney-era Star Wars universe. But she's not well used in these episodes. Both Ahsoka and her Imperial enemies behave stupidly in this plotline. For example, she could easily have secured the "map" (the key McGuffin in these 2 episodes) in a way that would preclude any chance of its getting recaptured. This is particularly lame for a character with as much military/resistance experience as she has. Also, the plotline with Ahsoka training Sabine Wren as a padawan is lame, because - as is repeatedly stated - Sabine has little or no Force ability. But, hopefully, things will get better as the series moves along. So far, this is better than such clunkers as Kenobi and The Book of Boba Fett, but not as good as Andor and The Mandalorian (though it does feature a Mandalorian of its own: Sabine!).
