#18 TV shows: Vampire Diaries - Vampire, love and treasons...

Today in direct live from… well… where I live… We are going to meet again and talk about another TV Show: Vampire Diaries.

I have to say straight up… I watch it and know it because of one person: my girlfriend which I advice to take a look at her post as she write in spanish about magical places: #lugaresmagicos @jayjes
And god knows she loves this show… and god knows I have to watch it whereas I like it or not ;)
Ahhhh girls… But I won’t complain too much, cause you get addicted quite soon. As always in big american TV Show, you start to watch with no much interest and then it does something on your mind and BAM you need the next episode and the next and the next!

This TV Show is inspired from a book written by L.J. Smith but in which the characters are totally different. The story starts quite smoothly with Elena Gilbert interpreted by Nina Dobrev, a young teenager living in the mysterious town of Mystic Falls in Virginia. She lives with her younger brother Jeremy at her aunt’s house Jenna Sommers. Her parents died in a car accident a few months before the starting point of this TV Show. Elena finds refuge and comfort thanks to her diary and with her two best friends Bonnie Bennett and Carolines Forbes.
In this new town and her first day of school she meets Stefan Salvadore, a mysterious new comer and fell directly for his charm. She soon discovered her bigger and evil brother Damon Salvatore. She will soon discover their secret…. THEY ARE VAMPIRES… Oh my god… It makes so much sense for the title now!!!! And it all start from here… This discovery will change forever her life and the one of her friends.

I am not going to lie to you, this is a teen TV Show for me… Of course there are vampires, witches, murder, blood and so on… But let’s open our eyes, lots of teen love, hate, love again and hate again… Teenagers at top :) That is not my cup of tea but I had to talk about this show for two reasons: the first one is that it is a big success, already 8 seasons, and that if I did not talk about it my girlfriend would kill me!
One of the reasons of its success is its really strong story that plunge you in this vampire world and it is hard not to want to know what will be next… The other reason, well, it’s the actors, they are young, they are beautiful, they are talented… What more do you want? Nothing, so let’s make a little tour of this TV Show casting!

This bulgarian beauty is gorgeous… but I am far from the point here and I am sorry. She made her debut in Degrassi: New Generation where she played Mia Jones. She is despite and not thanks to her gigantic beauty a great actress. She plays her roles with perfection even though she has three characters to play. She decided to stop at season 6, yeah I feel your deception :( But her acting and fame launched this young girl career to the moon. She now earned a star status and launched her movie career. During the last year she only did three movies, joking, this is a big deal! And you will see a lot of her really quickly.

Stefan Salvador, the good vampire of this show, he has valors and fight for them! This young american of 35 years of age is not only an actor but also a producer and realisator. Quite impressive for a young lad! This young boy did quite some movies but his talent directed his career to TV Show where he plays a handful of acting parts. You can see him in Another World, New york special unity Smallville, Newport Beach, various CSI, 24… Well a bunch of successes!!!
And you can be sure that it is not the last you will see of him with a resume that big!

Ian Somerhalder, the bad long teeth

Ian Somerhalder is the kind of guy a little bit annoying… You know the kind of guy your girlfriend tends to say « oooooh I looooove this guy! » and for you the type of guy, I know him but from where???
Well I will help you by admitting he was on another review I made about TV Show… Lost. And playing the role of Boone in Lost was his career launcher.
Before that TV Show he had many roles in other show without having a recurring role, apart maybe Smallville where I think he played a couple of episodes but not much more.
Concerning the big screen you will see him in a couple of movies like The Lost Samaritan, Caught or The Anomaly.

In conclusion I won’t advice you to watch it or not as it is absolutely not my cup of tea. But on the other hand I have to admit that this show is well done, it even has another Show explaining the story of these vampires with « the Originals ». Yeah… I have to admit it is a complete TV Show, you will have for your money taking a little bit of time to watch this one ;)
