Christmas Eve on Sesame Street (3rd December 1978)
After the residents of Sesame Street enjoy a spot of ice skating Big Bird gets talking to Oscar the Grouch, who plants the seeds of doubt in Big Birds mind, 'How can Santa fit down the chimney?...and what if you don't have a chimney?'. Big Bird then enlists Kermit the Frog and Grover to interview children to find the answer.
Meanwhile Bert and Ernie still don't know what to get each other for Christmas. Bert decides to buy Ernie a bath tidy put his rubber duckie on, but has to sell his prized paperclip collection to do so. Similarly Ernie sells his rubber duckie to buy Bert a cigar box to store his paperclip collection in.
Highlights include: Bert & Ernie's festive mix-up and Mr Hooper saving the day, Cookie Monster failing to write his letter to Santa.
