Plot: Two strangers are drawn to a mysterious pharmaceutical trial that will, they're assured, with no complications or side-effects whatsoever, solve all of their problems, permanently. Things do not go as planned.
For the last couple of months since I got divorced I could only watch TvShows I was already familiar with like "The walking dead", "better call saul" the big bang theory". I did watched the first episode of Altered Carbon but i guess I didnt got into it so much to continue watching.
After I've watched the first episode of "Maniac" I was mesmerized! The show seems very psychedelic and it reminded me of David Fincher movies like "Barton Fink" . Jonah hill played the main character amazingly well which is surprising as I was used to see him in stoners/ comedy movies in which he played a more out going personality. here he is so quite for a change and he does this really good.
The visuals here are really interesting and outstanding and get you really confused in a good way about what time area this movie is taking place? computers looks really old but other stuff looks modern Or a dog poop cleaner robot which pops out of nowhere which seems very futuristic. also, companies who offer programs to replace grieving widows husbands is a oddly unique element here which seems futuristic.
Theres alot of mystery in this first episode and not alot is given away but they did it in such a way that leaves you intrigued and want to see more and I will.
