This darkly comic drama from BAFTA-winning writer Paul Abbott was adored by all those that saw it, but when we hear about a renaissance in British drama and strong female leads, No Offence is rarely mentioned in the same breath as Happy Valley or Scott & Bailey.
And it should be. Because while the first couple of episodes were a little shaky – struggling to strike the right balance between the comic and the dramatic – No Offence quickly developed into one of the most compelling hours on British television, with amazing twists and stellar performances from its three leads – Joanna Scanlan, Elaine Cassidy and Alexandra Roach.
Oh, and it also stars Will Mellor – along with turns in Broadchurch and Line of Duty, here solidifying his position as British television's most underrated dramatic actor.
