So Dexter does die in the hands of Harrison. He had to come to face the truth: the dark "passenger" is the pilot - he kills Logan to escape prison. Angela was able to uncover the truth but got distracted by Dexter's tip to Kurt's trophy case. It was quite overwhelming...
I have to say that the finale felt disappointing. Yes, I "predicted" the ending. But Harrison shooting Dexter felt anti-climactic. I felt no tension, no feelings despite Dexter's inner dialogue. The finale of the original series was better done; he survived but was left alone.
