The Gifted Season 2 – Episode 16 Season and Show Finale Spoiler Free Review

I knew from the moment that Disney acquired Fox that this show will be cancelled. It was inevitable. The mutants are leaving the Underground and going to the MCU. I have a feeling that the showrunners also new this as this episode brings closer to our story.

Sure, it leaves an opening for another season, but it also feels like you don't really need it. We already know how it is going to go and what will happen. It doesn't feel like a cliffhanger to me.

I am happy with where all of the characters ended up. Mostly. I still find Jace and Kate to be so boring and forced. But Eclipse, Polaris, Reed, Lauren and Andy all got a pretty good and satisfying ending. Even Thunderbird got his closure.

Mutant problems are never over. They just evolve and change. This show showed us that. And also how blind hate leads to nothing. Even if it is fuelled by grief, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. I am not sure I will miss these characters. This show wasn't that good, but it had its own special unique terrible CGI thing going on.

This episode gets a 8/10
