Bill Cosby has been in the news all week with his rape trial going on and it got me thinking of the best shows of the 1980's. I'm an 80's kid and all of these shows give me great memories of growing up and I still watch reruns of them till this day. In fact, I have over 40 episodes of my #1 ranked show still on my DVR.

#1 Cheers
I wanted to be Sam Malone when I grow up. And now that I am grown up, I still want to be Sam Malone. Great hair, ladies man, former professional athlete, drinking problem, bar owner, and hero to Norm, Cliff, Woody, Coach, and Fraser.
What a phenomenal cast of characters. I always had a crush on Fraser's wife, Lilith. Diane, not so much, but Rebecca could look quite good.
I will always remember Norm's one liners as he walks into the bar and one of my favorites is, "It's a dog eat dog world out there, and I'm wearing milkbone underware."
My favorite episode of all time is when Cliff makes it on Jeopardy. Some of the categories that had me dying laughing were Beer, Stamps from around the world, mother son relationships. Cliff is killing everyone until he bets it all on Final Jeopardy only to blow every penny.
My favorite side character was Carla's scumbag ex husband. What a great guy!

#2 The Golden Girls
This may be surprising that I would have this rated so high, but I've seen every episode. Blanch slept with almost as many men as Sam Malone did women. Betty White's character, Rose, is loved by all.

#3 Charles In Charge
Scott Baio's character, Charles, and his best friend Buddy made for a great comedic duo. All of the girls on the show grew up to be smoking hot!

#4 Three's Company
This is one of the most underrated shows of all time. It dominated the ratings in the 80's and even had a spin off. Mr. Furly thought Jack was gay even though he was quite the player with the ladies. Janet and Kristen were beautiful and when the Ropers replaced Mr. Furly as the landloards, the show gained even more popularity. Unfortunately, the Ropers spin off failed. Jacks sleezy friend Larry is one of the best supporting characters of all time.

#5 Who's The Boss
This comes in at number five for one simple reason. Alyssa Milano! We are close in age and as Shen grew up so did I. And I have loved her ever since. I think I even told my girlfriend about this.

#6 Family Ties
What a great family show. I had some similarities to Alex P Keaton as I grew up. This show put one of my favorite actors, Michael J Fox, on the map.

#7 WKRP In Cincinnati
I work in radio and media and I can relate to every single character on this show. Also very underrated but I encourage you to binge a few seasons and you will be hooked. Sleezy salesman, Les, is great.

#8 Growing Pains
Mike Seaver and his best friend, Boner, had me laughing every week. We all have friends from high school that fit their descriptions. Kirk Cameron pictures were all over my sisters room and all the girls in junior high had them all over their lockers. Dynamite show.

#9 Perfect Strangers
Balki is one of my favorite characters of alltime. He parlayed his success on this show as a bumbling idiot into a nice career including being in Beverly Hills Cop movies.

#10 The Cosby Show
Growing up, this was a lot of my friends favorite show. I found it only mildly entertaining and kinda boring. My favorite character on the show was Theo's best friend Cockroach.

That rounds out my Top 10 List. Comment below on what shows did I miss? And look for my Top 10 Sitcoms of the 90's next week! Cheers!

who's the boss!! just watched reruns at work today. great show

Not sure if Full House is a sitcom, but I love that show, even though I am a 90s kid.

Thanks for reading my blog! Full House is 100% a sitcom and will be in my Top 10 90's post this weekend!!!

I like to three's company. Great show. thank you for your list.

Not a sitcom, but The Love Connection with Chuck Woollery was great. The new one isn't nearly as fun to watch.

I did watch that every night at 10pm.

I too was a child of the 80's, the ones I don't remember at all are number 3 and 7. May not have been shown here in Australia.

Nice post Scott !!
