TV Show & Music Way Back Challenge-I Love Lucy

in tvshowwaybackchallenge •  7 years ago  (edited)

My second entry for this #tvshowwayback challenge is the I Love Lucy show.

The TV challenge was started by @saffisara. @enginewitty added the Music Way Back Challenge giving a combination of TV and Music.

I was tagged by @saffisara and @enginewitty for the challenge. I’m doing my best to keep remembering way back.

I Love Lucy was a TV comedy classic starring Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, Vivian Vance, and William Frawley.

When the black & white version ended in 1957, a modified version continued in 1957 to 1960. I would have seen the 1960 version

Not only married in the show, Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball were married in real life. He had relocated to the U.S. from Cuba and met Lucille in show business.

In the I Love Lucy show, Desi played Ricky Ricardo a struggling young orchestra leader and Lucille was his wife, Lucy.

Lucy played an housewife who had show business dreams but no talent. She and her friend, Ethel, played by Vivian Vance were forever in mischief and tried to keep the trouble they got in from their husbands.

Lucy is at her comedic best in The Chocolate Factory.

For the music part here is Desi Arnez with his band singing the Rhumba.

Awesome choice!! I think the "Meat-a-vita-vegimen" (sp??) was my favorite episode! LOL

Thanks @artmisnorth. Lucy was the queen of comedy. There were so many funny episodes 😊

I loved that show and still do! My daughter has the complete series in a set that she asked for at Christmas one year. Television was so much better back then..imo! ;)

At home there was only 2 channels to watch on the old B&W but now have lots of channels and nothing to watch. lol.

I actually watched a few of those, cracked me up. What was the other one...Honeymooners maybe? With Alice?

Yes, Jackie Gleason saying, “ Bang zoom! You’re going to the moon, Alice.”
To which she replied, “Ahhh shut up, Ralph.”

Appreciate your visit @eaglespirit. ❤️ Lucy was a natural at comedy. Desi was a handsome fella with his dark good looks. I think she loved him always, even through she said he drank too much and ran around. They divorced later.
