Well that didn't take long: Twitter sale being called "racist"

I know just a little while ago that I wrote that I didn't care that Elon Musk had bought 10% of Twitter and now that it looks almost certain that he is going to acquire the rest of it, I still don't care and still don't have any intention of using it. It doesn't matter to me who owns it, I find it to be a massive waste of time and it annoys me when celebrities think their opinion on social or political issues should be listened to just because they were in some movies.

However, since we still live in clown world I knew it wouldn't take very long for people to freak out about this sale and also knew that at some point in time it would be called white supremacy, white power, racist, bigot, something something something liberal... you know, the usual words and catch phrases that left loves to throw at anyone that isn't 100% on their side.

One of the things that I knew would really get under the skin of a lot of people out there is that I feel as though it is pretty clear that Musk intends to restore the accounts of most anyone that was banned in the past, including Trump. Even thought Trump has said that he will not use Twitter even if his account is restored, it didn't take long for a ton of people to start crying about the mere prospect that such a move could (and likely will) happen.

We need to keep in mind that Trump has his own social media network that I think it called "Truth" so he has a vested interest in keeping his content over there. This is just a side issue but if Twitter does become a forum of sorts that allows voices from all sides of the spectrum, there might not be any incentive for conservatives to continue using GETTR and Gab, both of which are terrible anyway.

The main thing that I find both hilarious and sad was that it didn't take very long before some crazy people starting stating that Musk would be using the platform to spread "white supremacy" and even dug into his past as a South African youth in order to use this as some sort of proof.

One of the first people to do so is a person that made himself very wealthy by being a race-baiting propaganda machine with heavy involvement with BLM. Even though he looks about as black as I am.

Sure thing Shaun, because everything that white people do is about progressing the extent of our power and excluding as many minorities as possible along the way. Shaun also went on to state that Elon musk took advantage of Apartheid in Africa and is the son of a White Nationalist.

I have no idea if that is true but I do know that Elon is from South Africa yet moved away to Canada and later the United States at the age of 17. I have no idea if his father (who King is referring to) was a white nationalist - whatever that means - but given the fact that Elon was born when Apartheid was still in effect and his father was a white man, in the eyes of someone like Shaun King his father is guilty and a white nationalist by default just because of his skin color and all of his offspring are therefore guilty by extension.

Here's something to look at from anyone's life: We have no control over where we are born and who are parents are. Are we shaped by our parents' ideals? Sure we are, but later in life nearly everyone has the opportunity to form their own opinions about everything. How similar are you to your parents? Isn't there a possibility that Elon, seeing as how he is one of the most successful people of all time, might have made some choices independently?

Even if his family was in fact taking advantage of Apartheid, Elon was too young at the time to really have much idea of what that concept even meant, let alone be an active part of it. He has also publicly stated that he has completely removed his father from his life and said of his father that he was "a terrible human being... Almost every evil thing you could possibly think of, he has done."

Does this matter at all to Shaun King and other crazy people who think like him? Of course not. All that matters is that Elon is white and therefore he is guilty by association. This is the very definition of racism, Shaun.

This accusation was always going to happen and people like Shaun King keep the wheels of finding racism in anything well and truly greased. Thankfully, I think that people like King overplayed their cards in the past 5 years and now most people don't really pay them much attention.
