As a fan and follower of the Innocence Project, I learn countless heart-breaking stories of lives stolen by an incompetent or corrupt justice system. Rarely are the victims female. Enter Tyra Patterson, who was accused of murdering a teenager at age 19 (the victim was white). The false confession used to convict her is undermined by the fact that a 911 call was never presented at trial.
She's 40 now and has been a model inmate for decades. She had steadfastly proclaimed her innocence and have even convinced many Republicans. Currently, there's a Petition to pressure Gov. Kasich into granting clemency. The articles are worth reading.
