I'd like to start a different type of discussion. It will take looking past our own current lives. Please describe as best you can What would you like the world to look like, for your great, great grandchildren? #MeaningOfLife
The Meaning of Life
by Jeffrey Torres
Last night, while thinking about the sheer vastness of space, time and trying to put it all into perspective, this came to me. There have been hundreds of thousands of generations of humans, in one form or another. That have lived before us and with any foresight and complete willingness, maybe there will be hundreds of thousands after us. And that's only a fraction of the time that has passed, on just our little planet.
At no point in our history have had the opportunity that we have "today". To completely change the world we live in. Just the fact that we have the ability to connect with nearly every single person on the planet is huge and game changing. For almost if not all of our history a small number of individuals have ruled over the masses. By controlling resources, religion, slavery, fear, anger and every combination thereof. It still continues to this day through money, power, and greed.
There is no justifiable reason why CEO's get hundreds of millions of dollars and investors to get billions, while the people who actually do the work, EARN mere wages. Yet this is the world we are ALLOWING to exist. This cannot continue.
If we are to survive and thrive into the future. It is inevitable that we come together as a single world, not continue as separate, warring factions, fighting for resources and power. Our first and most important goal must be the stewardship of our world and the Peoples that inhabit it. That and in conjunction with our second goal, which is to explore and try to discover the mysteries of the universe. Therefor the meaning of life is, to help one another and to explore the universe.
