Samson a Man of muscles of steel but pliant discipline: How even Giants Fall

Have you ever meet someone who looked too smart to make mistakes, too strong to fail, too moral to sin, too talented to loose, too good not to succeed in life, too courageous to fear, too beautiful to remain unmarried all life long and too multitalented to be ordinary. People who appear to have the whole world and life at their feet, when for you, it feels like you have the whole world on your shoulders. Life and the world has become too much for you. Well keep it tight, do not be deceived.

In the bible there's a very popular story about Samson. He was a leader in the nation of Israel, a man of steel, divinely empowered to fight, he was set apart for God's service only. He was not suppose to touch dead bodies either of animals or human, he was not suppose to use alcohol, he was not to marry a woman from other ungodly nations and he was nit suppose to shave his hair. These where the preconditions to preserve his powers. These were the secretes of his powers.

However Samson a man of steel, violated all these conditions and betrayed the secrete of his power. He became an ordinary man, even if he wanted to act as powerful as he was, it could not work. He was caught by the philistines whom previously he beat has he wanted. He lost his power, his throne, his eyes and his fear factor (glory). He had his revenge later but the cost was to his ultimate price, it was too late to redeem himself. His story was that one of from riches to rugs.

But how could this happen to such a giant like Samson, a man whom every body feared. He could thousands of his enemies soldiers alone, with jaws of a donkey. His terror went ahead of him every where he went. He did so many exploits that an ordinary person could have not done. So what happened then that made him to fall like a fool in the hands of his enemies?

Here are the things we can learn from Samson's story. In this story we learn positive and negative things, what to up hold and what forsake. These lessons are not only to individuals but to businesses, churches, government institutions and the general public.

1. You can become a giant too in your own right, because giants are just flesh and blood like you. You are not Samson but you have a God given thing too, it could be a talent, special ability etc. If you maximize that you will become a leader and giant of your own tribe. Nevertheless giant are human, and thus are frail. Arrogance and complacent should never find a foot hold in you, just because you have become successful. Success is not permanent and giants are fallible too.

1. Protect your potential, your dream, talents and dominion. There things that are destructive to your potential, you cannot afford to let them near you time after time. How many best students do you know who lost their edge because of bad habits, personally I know a number of them. the same goes to teams, sports men, leaders , businesses and the list goes on and on, all of them were performing great, had a great future and dreams. But somewhere along the lines they lost their giantism, their greatness, splendor and edge, because they never protected themselves from bad manners. You may be talented, you may have a big dream or you may be living your dream right now but you do not protect that you will fall off.

1. Respect the rules and principles of the game, because not every rule should be broken they will break you. Sometimes we are encouraged to think outside the box and break the rule to succeed in certain things, this is half truth. I know this phrase is used figuratively but still even in that sense is still a half truth.
   Some rules if you try to break them they break you. You need to know them so that you can corporate with them. You can't break the law of gravity, it is their whether you acknowledge it or not. If you ignored it, it is going to break you, you need to know how it works the find away to work with it. Everything as rules, principles, culture, practises and disciplines, be it business, talent, marriage, church, ministry etc. If you want succeed, to have an edge, to make it big, to remain on top of the pile, you need to respect the rules. Rules are meant to protect you so that you can do more. Everything has it limits that should not be trespassed, you have your limits too. Rules respect no persons, even giants, you break them they break you.

4.Do not betray the secret of your strength
In technology industry, in military, in the food industry, they do not expose all their secrete outside their. You need to learn that, do not betrayed the secrete of your power to your enemy. In this world know what to share and what not to share. You will always be enticed to relax your guard and let you mouth run loose, be watchful. Every successful person has a secrete ingredient.

1. Form right associations, bad company destroys giants. It can be people, things or habits. Samson went to far, he was not suppose to marry outside Israel but he did it anyway. He married not only outside Israel but from his common enemies, not only that of all the women, he choose to marry a prostitute. A cheap person, work never cares about creating true relationship and share a genuine love but her own gains. Her love and her body had a price tag, the highest bidder wins her love, affection and loyalty. Such people should never be your companion in life or business, if you want to survive and thrive. Their are like a broken foot you cannot walk on it, or a broken tooth you cannot chew on it. Bad company destroys good people, good marriages, big dreams, great talents, effectives businesses and sound mind. Their a weak link, a hole in your boat, cast them out and you survive keep them around down you go. If giants can fall you can fall too, but why fall when you can learn from their mistakes and do better.
