En el calendario judío tenemos cuatro ayunos obligatorios instituidos por los sabios, de acuerdo al versículo de Zacarías 8:19 Así dijo Dios, 'el ayuno cuarto y el ayuno quinto, el ayuno séptimo y el ayuno décimo serán para la casa de Yehudá (Judá) de regocijo, alegría y fiestas felices'
Por caer en el séptimo mes, Tishrí corresponde con el "séptimo" mencionado en el versículo, así que como sabrán Rosh Hashaná (el inicio de año) será el miércoles a la noche, finalizando el viernes y entraremos a Shabat, por lo que tendremos que hacer "Eruv tabshilín" para poder cocinar de un día festivo para Shabat.
Por lo que el ayuno debería ser el Shabat, 3 de Tihrí, pero la regla es que nunca se ayuna en Shabat (excepto Yom Kipur el único ayuno obligatorio de la Torá), entonces el ayuno se pospondrá al domingo, con el favor de Dios.
Todo judío debe ayunar estas fechas en que ocurrieron graves y dolorosos sufrimientos al pueblo de Israel, para así despertar y abrir los corazones al arrepentimiento, recordando nuestros malos actos y los de nuestros antepasados que nos provocaron sufrimientos tan amargos. Así recordándolos reflexionaremos y mejoraremos nuestros hechos.
Algunas reglas del ayuno.
a) Sólo se ayuna desde "alot hashájar" (72 minutos antes de la salida del sol) hasta la puesta del sol. En Beersheba Israel de 5:18 AM - 6:48 PM
b) Personas enfermas, o débiles, o parturientas, en algunos casos mujeres embarazadas o que están lactando al bebé, están exentos de ayunar.
c) Se permite trabajar, hay quien sólo lo hace medio día.
Tzom kal, o sea, que tengamos un ayuno fácil, pero sobretodo que tengamos el mérito de volver a Dios con un corazón completo. Nuevamente Shaná tová umetuká FELIZ AÑO NUEVO Y DULCE!!!
