Why poor stay poor

At one of my previous jobs we had a conversation with colleagues... why our president is so rich. This topic in the country is more popular than ever, as the rich people traditionally are not loved in the post-Soviet countries.

However, in my opinion, the wealth of our President Poroshenko differs from most analogues in the post-Soviet countries. His wealth is not created on the country's resources. Yes, he accumulated control over one of the very popular confectionary factories of Soviet times (at that time it was called a factory named after Karl Marx :), but on its basis he created a confectionery empire and even managed to get 25% of the Russian confectionery market.
Undoubtedly there are old favorite brands - cake "Kievsky" and sweets "Red poppy", in my opinion the most famous ones, although I most like their Napoleon.

And from the very beginning Poroshenko chose quality for his products. When I studied in Kyiv 15 years ago and one of the university lecturers told us that the "Kievsky" is made with walnuts only at Roshen and the rest are using peanuts. Once in the remote village of my grandmother (5 hours by car from St. Petersburg to the taiga), we went to a local store and I saw there the Roshen candies familiar to me, then I easily pointed to the ones I should take. And although my sister's husband skeptically bought a little, but after an hour he went for a new party. It was "Lishchina";)

And this man we chose to presidency, perfectly aware that his products are not interesting in public procurement. And yet ... people are so... human... and now he is to blame for all the sins of every Ukrainian. Almost, but such is the responsibility in our society.

But what's important is that one of the women (who already retired but worked as a restaurant technologist) said that she had worked for 30 years and for some reason did not become as rich as Poroshenko. And I was even taken aback by such arguments. And I know that this woman hated me after I answered her, but ... people always do not like those who tell the truth.

First, it is possible to get rich with the help of a salary only in case of unique skills or entering the international level in the profession (that is, even for a technologist there can be a certain scientific activity or consulting), but certainly professionalism is not measured by years spent in the profession.

Secondly, you need to take risks to get rich. Those. invest their money in various projects, while realizing that some of them will be just waste. People who have been working for 30 years on the stability of their wages are not in.

Thirdly, money loves money, i.e. in order to become rich, you do not have to spend everything earned, and make 30-50% of your income work and bring in additional income.

Fourthly, by the way, the creation of the team. The solution, born of different opinions, is of a better quality. There are a lot of safety points in teamwork (illness, personal circumstances). The team is trust, and that is sometimes the accumulation of funds for start-up. Usually this is another way of monetizing an idea, since it takes into account both the distribution of roles and the diversification of directions.

If a person for 30 years of his/her work did not do anything of the foregoing, the one should not expect that life would lift him/her to Olympus for the time spent.
