I enjoy app-gigs (Uber, Taskrabbit, Postmates, Robinhood, etc) and I love to buy crypto! Have I found my passion?

Hello Steemit Community,

My name is Kevin (22y/o) and my goal in the next couple years is to obtain the CPA license in California. I'm currently
doing app-gigs with

  1. Uber
  2. Lyft
  3. Amazon Flex
  4. Doordash
  5. Postmates
  6. Taskrabbit
  7. Robinhood

I thought it would be a convenient way to make money while completing my education. I received my bachelor's degree in economics at the University of California, Riverside in 2016.

After graduating, I fell out of interest with school and i felt obligated in finding work. I worked several jobs at Optima Tax Relief and Wells Fargo. The work was disgruntling and I could not believe how working with these financial institutions dissapointed me. Clients and customers were getting gouged for ridiculous services. I was picking up phone calls and responding to customer questions the way my company wanted me to respond. At the same time, I was getting paid $15 to basically reuse the same script! How could I feel good about my service to the public as we were offering clients such terrible advice? In March of this year, I quit my job and began doing independent contracting with app gigs.

At this point, I have barely skimmed bitcoin and cryptocurrency. I have speculated since 2014 while my friends were buying drugs online with Bitcoin. My experience at UCR was interesting and filled with paranoia. I had decent grades, a $12/h job on campus, and a decent financial aid package. Life was going well, but i had major doubts of post-graduation.
Throughout my college career, my friends have touched upon bitcoin because we wanted to buy weed to and offer business to our friends and peers at school. It is quite odd, that it only recently became legal in California. We used to sneak around and feel paranoid of the police being nearby. Yes-it was a drug crazed school, but everyone was very focused on their studies!

I recently reconnected with an old friend of mine (Jay) in San Diego and I informed him of my speculation in cryptocurrency, specifically with the app Coinbase. I was afraid to buy into ethereum, but Jay immediately bought into ethereum as he was fascinated by the technology (he studied computer science and accounting). He encouraged me to buy 1 eth as well at $150. I also bought 5 litecoin for around $27.

I wanted to make a post because I feel like cryptocurrency has created a tight niche with a few of my friends who studied accounting and computer science. After graduating, we all lost our passion for what we wanted to become, what we wanted to do. It so happens that cryptocurrency has elements of both business and computers. Personally, I think these are the two best subjects to learn ;). I just happened to fall out of interest with accounting, and my friends fell out of interest with their studies as well. Even though cryptocurrency has no financial statements, I love the concept of it's ability to revolutionize the financial and computer industry to form a stronger, more effective community. I really hope to complete CPA license in the near future. I would want to utilize my skills in the future towards cryptocurrency, maybe with Aragon :). This is such a wide field to work in and appreciate.

For any of app entrepreneurs, I do have some youtube videos regarding some of the work i'm doing with those applications. We should exchange ideas and help eachother out!

I have been trying to find time to post informative videos about independent contractors on youtube. I hope we can form a community on steemit. It would be awesome!
