Extra working shifts always cause issues on working capacities and same issue was being raised for drivers of Uber. Company was under huger criticism by making passengers at risk due to long shifts and now taking this all into consideration Uber has put working hours limitation for their drivers.
As per company notes, any driver online for 10 hours will be locked from using app for next 6 hours. However this limit will not affect drivers weekly workings which they are still allowed at 60 hours per week. Earlier Uber had no limitation of working in shifts and drivers were being paid as per their job.

In the absence of this working hours limitation, drivers were changing persons one after the other under the same account which was also a risk to passengers. Company approves only one driver under an account and that account was being used by other un-approved drivers as well. This was basically happening due to low earning claims by drivers. Only time will tell, with this new limitation, how drivers will overcome the issue of low earnings.
