Mike Rogers of Alabama about a bipartisan bill that would create a new part of the military for space operations, called Space Corps. ... It's been named Space Corps.
The new Space Corps would be led by its own chief of staff, joining the existing joint chiefs of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force. The bill, under "Management and Organization of Space Programs," lawmakers included a section that "would authorise the creation of a Space Corps within the Department of the Air Force and require the Secretary of the Air Force to certify its establishment by January 1, 2019.
