I thought David Chang was cool, but somehow a bit of an ass in the previous series, Mind of a Chef, which was executive produced by Anthony Bourdain. However in Ugly Delicious he is totally spot on in reveling in world cuisine and being cool, honest, and yes a bit of a smart ass, but a reflective one. Defending Korean and Asian cuisine in a humorous way while exploring Mexican, American, Vietnamese, Italian and a whole plethora of other foods and subgenres, told in non-linear ways with humorous asides, a variety of locales, story lines, chefs, critics, and other assorted personalities. A gastronomic world tour with plenty of opinions and originality. A winner.
