Everyone loves an underdog.

One thing that should have become abundantly clear to everybody over the last week is how passionate, to the point of credulity, some of us can become when a big bad guy decides to attack a smaller decent guy. If misinformation is pro-Ukraine, we let it slide. In fact, it's almost dangerous to fact check any pro-Ukrainian information.

You juxtapose that with how people handle the conflict between Palestine and Israel, a small bad guy trying to punch a big decent guy, and the misinformation and propaganda are still in favor of the weaker guy. It doesn't matter that the big guy is a liberal democracy and the little guy is a theocracy that kills gays and apostates. A apparently, the murderous theocracy is the good guy in a lot of people's minds because he's also weaker.

This is a problem. Being evil and ineffective is better than being evil and effective; but, either way, it's evil. Your intent to kill innocent people is evil enough. The fact that you suck at killing people doesn't make you morally virtuous.
