The changes can not be understated.
In 2016, only 5% of Ukrainians supported same-sex civil partnerships. In 2023, 56% do. Across the board, Ukrainian acceptance of LGBT rights has increased significantly. It is a phenomenal sight to see.
Russia meanwhile has been trending in the opposite direction with increasingly negative views of LGBT individuals. In 2013 Russia passed the controversial "gay propaganda law" and further expanded it in 2022 amidst the war. That law has effectively driven LGBT individuals in Russia underground amidst persecution and violence.
I am glad my land mates becomes more into human rights 💪🏼
