This is one of the best things that the Philippine citizens will get from the political will of President Duterte because he is just true to his words that he hates Monopolies and alike to the detriment of the people who are caught up with the ruling big industries that command a high price for their services.
Currently the are only two big giants in the Internet service but soon they will have to come down with their unfair service and compete to give a better pricing because of the emergence of another major Telco player that will provide a better and more reliable Internet service that also will be more affordable for the common people to subscribe and use for their own needs.
The bidding process to get selected as the new third telco player will start in October and there are also guidelines for the process like a substantial capital of 188 Billion dollars, it should not be related to the existing telco players, must give at least 5Mbps speed, and must cover at least 50% of the country, etc. to give the best and affordable service to combat the duopoly in the Philippine telco service.

This news is really exciting, but also seems like a tough task to fulfill. Effectively one month for a bid to be a new Telco with those guidelines to follow? That's a lot to ask and sounds like a lot of work.
This is certainly a step in the right direction for the Philippines. I'll be interested about the progress made in October.

Excellent news now begins the supply and demand, they will have to offer and give better benefits to their customers to maintain their portfolio, otherwise everyone will move with the new company, which will surely offer better plans, hopefully they will provide you better service friend @cryptopie
