Hey everyone!!!

Woo-hoo!! There's NOTHING like a bit of retail therapy especially if it's for a good cause and you get some bang for your buck whilst doing so.. πŸ˜‚
What can YOU fit into this bag?

My friend and I went to the The Good Shop Mauritius this morning for a look see... Silly me saying at the door. I'll just look around. πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ My family and friends know me better. The Good Shop has a shopping spree going where you can take a bag for Rs300 or Rs500 and fill it up with whatever fits in it!! Whatever goes into it is what you're taking home with you.

Books, books and more books

They have everything from books to kitchen stuff. Clothes, toys and more.

Liz and I both took a Rs300 bag but I had to upgrade halfway through... πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ I'm addicted to secondhand stuff. What can I say. I found some awesome almost brand new shorts and t-shirts for the Xman and some cute little outfits for myself and the girl-child. Plus... We've had so much fun! I've been meaning to go forever but as I don't have the car in the mornings I always forget about it and today was my first visit but not my last.

This is everything I managed to fit into my bag

Buying secondhand shouldn't be looked down upon. Buying new all the time is damaging to our planet and there's really no need if there's good quality 2nd hand stuff around. I've always felt especially with the kids that were growing so fast in earlier years I didn't mind having them wear hand-me-downs.

At the end of our shopping spree Liz has paid about R120 for her bag of treasures and mine came to the princely amount of R210. Wow!! I couldn't even buy one of those books new for that price. Now to put everything through the wash!!

Some nice things for the kitchen

An amazing start to my day and good time spent with a friend.πŸ’ž

ppps. I feel the books subject wasnt developed enought. did you find smth intresting? did you obtained one?..

Hi there. So nice to see you and sorry i didn't share enough about the books. There were plenty of bookshelves and I initially took three. These two are from a well known author back home and I was pleasantly surprised to find them. I also bought eat.pray.love so my daughter and I can read it. I've seen the movie but not read the book so looking forward. And guess what... πŸ˜‚ I'm going back in the morning. I have seen some more stuff I would like to purchase for my parents. And I'm taking a friend to buy some books. Can't wait. πŸ“šπŸ˜Š

thank you!! I do appreciate this part a lot. I am a sucker for books. always a solid pleasure to find good books, even the ones I have read or already obtained in other editions and not going to buy. its a bit academic intrest, a bit metaphysical... I like to stumble upon the books.

I'm in love with your post! less reading -- more pics with short legendas :)))

retail therapy! oh YEAH!!!!!

especially when it comes to 2nd hand. and, you know what?
for the last 3 (!) days my wife was doing voyages to a friend of our acquaintance, who was giving away -- and she borrowed 4 (!) same sized bags :P
after that, she dared to visit 2nd hand shop, and brought in one more bag (happily, of a smaller size) -- we got some dress for our baby, including three nice girl dress. one is intended for her Halloween Celebration Ball.

... some bang for your buck

what did you mean? sorry, pls can you tell it to me in other words?..

I noticed you really enjoyed this particular post. It makes me happy. ☺️ More bang for your buck means more value for your money. Just a saying. I'm a bargain slut and a sucker for worthy causes. All items are donated to this shop and buying from them means I'm contributing to a good cause. Good all around. Thanks for stopping by. 😊 Enjoyed all the feedback from hou. And good on your wife die finding those bargains. By buying secondhand we do our bit for rhe planet I believe.

More bang for your buck means more value for your money.

may I say it is 'more efficient investment of the money', money spent more efficiently? is it correct synonym to 'more bang for your buck' ?..

It's for a worthy cause and because it's secondhand and they've had sales on I've gotten a huge bargain as I only paid per bag. Anything that fit in the bag was mine.

haha, this is my case. add to it that I dont like to play customers role in this consumeristic world, and always very reluctant to spend money at anything :))))) I buy almost all I can (except food) at second-handed market...

I love those shops too, i also donate to them, but cannot pass one without going on a hunt for hidden treasures

" hunt for hidden treasures " -- this is the best part for me, too.

I am the same!!!! Donate and then shop.. πŸ˜‚ It's responsible shopping. 😊😍

sometimes it dont stop nobody from doing it, as it dont deprives both sides from getting all the pleasure from the content :-) brittandjosie was doing that in the past, as I noticed :P
