ULOG: 19 Understanding Jamaa & Nuvo coin.!!!

Some certainty about #jamaa and basically some crypto based social blogging platforms. #blockchain
This discussion was actually made by @surpassinggoogle on a WhatsApp group for #jamaa. The chatting when a user questioned the reason why #jamaa had to allow such a long time to power down.
Several questions were asked on the group chat which led to the below message

There are many reasons for this. #Jamaa is very easy to understand especially if you have been on #steem. You can turn your Nuvo power into liquid form over the course of time. Well at this point Nuvo isn’t listed yet or on sell so it makes a level of sense to have your Nuvo in power form as why not.

Your powered up Nuvo gives you more influence and incentivizes you to invest in distributing rewards which translates into value among other things. Note that #jamaa is in its early change and it is bound to undergo adjustments overtime till its vision is set. On #steem for instance, it started with a 24 hours payout and a 30 day payout then courtesy of some community consensus went on to a 7 days payout interval. It started out with delegation capability and then went to the ability to delegate too, it went from a two year power down window or so, to a 3 month period as #steem began to have a standing, even #whalehareshares.io had her period too

One reason, places like jamaa will have powered-up(s) at all, is to curb on inflation to an extent. It emits a reward pool and #Nuvo daily I believe and where this is all liquid, there is so much of it everywhere (assuming) it is listed and there is no scarcity.

Too much of the token out there means too much supply and like lower demand and this tells on the price. Not like price is a true measure of jamaa’s success but that is ‘measure’ for many. Too, currency like Nuvo, steem etc are all ‘money’ (speaking of its utility), for it can serve as a measure of ‘influence’ and even say on the platform and where it is headed.

For instance where your Nuvo is 100 billion and it is all liquid and you wanted some form of say in rejecting an upcoming fork etc (assuming Nuvo as at the stage) then your liquid 100 billion will have limited effect liquid, except powered up to vote on witness who are in line with your desires. Well there is a ton of reasons for having powered up Nuvo.

At this point however, it makes a level of sense for Nuvo to be paid in power as the token isn’t listed yet overall. Plus, it incalculcates in users early the art of powering up and it incentivizes you to engage in creating value via the art of curating among other things. One other thing I forgot to mention is ‘power up’ as a protection mechanism so that market prices can’t just crash heavily and at once or dumped on etc.
