MY DAY’S EXPERIENCE – FINAL DAY OF EXAM

Hello highly esteemed Steemians, I’ll like you all to celebrate with me on a successful completion of my first semester exams. The exam has been tough, but despite the series of challenges, God was faithful as He sustained me with His graces.

IMG_20171128_143436.jpg

The exam ended with a course called “ENS 201” – an acronym or course code that stands for ‘The Engineer and the Society’. This course deals with the role of the Engineers in our world and how the society relates with the Engineers. Other contents include: The History of technological development in Nigeria; the problem of Nigerian indigenous contractors; project appraisal methodology; the nature of Engineering profession; Inventory management; human relations and maintenance; and most importantly – ‘problem solving’.

IN GRATITUDE TO MY FAMILY AND LECTURERS

In regards to that that, my day ended well. A very big thanks to my family and friends, I’m also grateful to my Lecturers for their constant support, and most especially to Steemit for making it possible for me to pay my academic bills and help others too.

ABOUT MYSELF

IMG_20180122_125134.jpg

My name is A. C. Hilary – an Engineering Student of the University of Benin, Edo State, Nigeria. I am a Sophomore, presently studying Electrical and Electronics Engineering. I chose this course because I’m keen on problem solving. I will love to solve the problem of inadequate power supply, beginning from my country, Nigeria, the continent and then to the world. I am working towards ensuring that even underdeveloped countries will enjoy the dividends of the wonders of science and technology in our modern world.

I am a graphics designer who loves sharing the gospel, but I major on cartooning as a toon artist. I have a design team whereby we produce quality works for clients. I have also been able to produce some artworks for some steemians here too.

Let me display some of them, including a comparism of the original pictures, the processes undergone and the final project.

I look forward to producing new toons for others, starting with a volunteering work for each of my mentors. Life is about giving, not necessarily always receiving, I suppose.

Watch out for my next toon art work in my next post. The Steemian who I will do a cartoon artwork for is yet to be revealed. Hehehe… suspense, right?
Anticipate!!!

In addition, @GraceHills is very passionate about learning new things due to his hunger for knowledge and personal growth. My favorite course/subject is Mathematics (and Physics too); food is bread and beans (Hehe… funny right?); and then sport is football. Yeah, I love watching and playing soccer. As a Manchester United fan that I am, I play the attacking role because of my love for scoring goals. Smiles.

MY JOURNEY AS A STEEMIAN

paUL.jpg

Firstly, I was introduced to Steemit by my very good friend, @Aauthespioan1. In spite of my initial reluctance, he persisted and kept insisting that I should with good reasons. (Now I have discovered that he was an ‘angel’ sent).
After having agreed, he taught me other stuffs and fed me with good pieces of information on how to become a successful steemian. He introduce me to @Steemnaira community. It was there that I learned a couple of stuff too, like the relevant tags to use for each posts, etc (since they have a forum for educating newbies). I can forget to mention @dante31, @michaelcj, @casweeney, @ponmile… our supportive tutors whose ultimate aim was to have us enlightened.

The meet-ups I attended

HOW STEEMIT HAS HELPED ME

Subsequently, I joined other helpful communities like @Africaunchained community where I made new friends while the learning process continued.

I who is keen on reading good articles found home here, increasing the level of my knowledge and widening my horizon.
There are quality articles posted on this social platform each day, ranging from religion, science, literature, art, business, history, blockchain technology, photography, entertainment, culture, crypto, humans’ creativity… etc (the list is endless) which I find interest in reading.

Outside making new friends and reading good articles, Steemit has also helped put food on my table; assisted me in paying my school bills, tuition fees and medicals. Through Steemit, I have also been able to help those experiencing financial struggles (especially my fellow students who cannot afford some basic necessities).

GRATITUDE TO MY MENTORS AND STEEMIT FRIENDS

I am grateful to those who have in one way or the other contributed to my success as a Steemian: - to @Sirknight, @Surpassinggoogle, @Donkeypong, @Tojukaka, @Ehiboss, @Destinysaid, @Michaelcj, @Dante31, @Aauthespian1, @Edumurphy, @hr1… and to the #Apostles of Steemchurch - @Jaff8, @Darlneys01, @Tikhub, @Owoblow-steemit, @Abiye, @Marcelo, @Adoyinwealth.

I extend the expression of my profound gratitude to my friends too @Stevenmoesoes, @Ponmile, @Danpete, @Mrglowz, @Edwin23, @Jesusluvs, @Iconelly, @Eunireal, @Iamchijamz, @Richie-3, @Gsaint.

And finally to my UNIBEN family: @Hornblende, @estheromoyiwola, @kingeazi, @etemi, @hboi, @omonosa, @paskolo… and others who space will not permit me to mention.

MY PLANS

I’ll love to keep solving problems within my capacity. To keep helping others, (most especially my fellow students) financially, academically and spiritually.

I have a target of getting tens and hundreds of people into Steemit. To achieve this, I’ve able to talk to a lot of persons, beginning from my family, to my roommates, to my department, to my faculty, to the entire school, to the society and so on, To some extent, the materialization of this project is coming into fruition. Through steemit, we can reach out to the poor, needy and the broken.

MY ADVICE FOR MY FELLOW MINNOWS

Oh yea! In @Michaelcj’s word, “keep it real”. Stay open for learning new things that will aid your growth. Don’t be afraid of attempting new goals or making mistakes. @Dante31 will say: “no fear”.

You can join a community that will appreciate the kind of works you produce. There’s @steemchurch, @airclinic, steemgigs, @backtoschool project, @flaminghelpers, @euronation, @genesisproject, @ninjapidgin, @steemstem etc. which are there to welcome your talents.

Having a good mentor is also a good one. For me, I have stated mine because I’ll like to attain the kind of success they have attained, the likes of @SirKnight, @Surpassinggoogle, @Donkeypong, @Tojukaka, @Ehiboss, @Destinysaid, @Michaelcj, @Dante31, @Aauthespian1, @Edumurphy, @hr1… and to the #Apostles of Steemchurch.

More importantly, build relationships with other Steemians (without discrimination). Don’t limit the relationship to online friendship (communication through the media), rather, you can extend it to offline too and the best way to actualize this is to attend meetups (where you get to interact with your fellow steemians) and share beautiful ideas.
Dlive discord channel will say:

Don’t ask for upvotes, make great content because you like to do it (not only in hopes of getting an upvote), improve constantly and you will be rewardes sooner or later.

PROJECTS

Think of how you can be an asset to the community, (not a liability) who only expects but also contributes to the growth of the others. The likes of @Sirknight, @Surpassinggoogle, @Donkeypong, @Tojukaka, @Ehiboss, @Destinysaid, @Michaelcj, @Dante31, @Aauthespian1, @Edumurphy, @hr1… have chosen this path.

There are a lot of projects out there to help in promoting steemit, many of which appreciates our talents and help us monetize them. There are: ULOG, SIN, STEEMCHURCH DESIGNS AND GENERAL CONTRIBUTIONS, GRATEFULDAY, STEEMCAMP, BACKTOSCHOOLPROJECT, GENESIS PROJECT, FLAMINGHELPERS, STEEMGIGS, STEEMSTEM etc.
A lot of contests are also being organized by several persons each day. That’s a good one. Let me use this opportunity to expatiate on the last paragraph.

STEEMCHURCH

Steemchurch is the first ever church of the blockchain founded in the order of @SirKnight. It aims at promoting the gospel and the propagation of the kingdom of God. It has birthed other communities like @sc-n to help curate posts in Nigeria which deserve good payouts; @sc-v for Venezuela, to liberate the Venezuelans out of their present crises; @sc-g to help those under the umbrella of Ghana who cannot afford the basic necessities, afford a good standard of living. You can use use the “Steemchurch tag” where you get curated for the reward of your quality content. As a Christian author, graphics designer, programmer… your talent is welcomed. Thanks to @SniffnScurry, another helpful curator of steemchurch who has come to find some tasteful cheese in the form of Steem. Yeah, the Steemchurch Bingo and bingo treats is one of which I am a beneficiary of. God bless @SirKnight.

GRATITUDE DAY

The idea behind this is clear and simple – to interpret things with the eyes of gratitude. You cannot know the value of what you have until you lose it. God bless @Tojukaka for piucking up this project. It takes a man like @Tojukaka’s to understand the significance of gratitude. Make a post about what you are grateful for and use the #GratitudeDay tag. There are a lot of benefits.

I quote this very supportive personnel @Tojukaka

The acronym “SIN” stands for Steemit In Nigeria. It is the largest blockchain event in Nigeria. There are a lot of facts about SIN that might interest you. Thanks to @Ehiboss for this wonderful project.
Here are screenshots from his blog.

You can write about the SIN event too to create more awareness. Do well to visit @Ehiboss ‘s post here. With the way the Nigerian economy is at present, SIN becomes one of the best way to remedy the issue of poverty and unemployment (most especially to help youths).

The Video I posted was when I attended the Steemcamp audition event/meetup. God bless @Michaelcj and those who earnestly contribute to the success of this project. A shout out to @Steemnaira community too!

ULOG

It could be discouraging sittingfor hours, creating good content, left with the depravity of sleep as an option… and at the end, no one gets to read it or it gets an extremely low payout. That’s why tjese projects came up as a way of encouraging we steemians who are still struggling on our way to the top. Thanks to out steemit witness who is always out there to inspire the inspirers of steemit (Hehe.. I got that line from his status description).
