Back to a long due ulog post since my last one was December of last year. A lot happened through the past weeks or months and things unexpected that changed on what I can do on my own time, of what I've been planning to do this year. That in this #uloggers post.
Two months or so is a lot in one post so I will just sum up events in the past weeks that is worth sharing. ;) Kinda like a flashbackFriday for me as well since it's already Friday anyway. So what's up with me last week of December, on the first month of 2019 January, and February up until March?
New Year's Eve was as always, just like the previous years was spent at home while watching the New Year's Eve countdown on television. Few minutes before the midnight strikes, lights were turned on along with other Filipino New Year's Eve tradition that we always do every year. An exchange of greetings of a Happy New Year was followed with Filipino home-cooked foods dad made like bilo-bilo fit for the cold holiday evening with rice cakes.
New year comes with new adventures, even with new challenges. With getting started early for my 2019 goals, I accomplished getting my test video done for Udemy early January, on the 9th to be exact, taking one step closer to getting something done. ;)
Setting up for my first Udemy test video with the young husky Hiroko being curious as always
It was the month unexpected changes started as well. It all started with an appointment day for bone density test early in the morning and that's where the limping from pain of one leg continued until now for one of my parent. We could only guess on how it really started or what contributed for it to take on another level, but maybe the cold weather was one to blame. Or maybe something else? Three days from that day we ended up walking in to primary doctor and was sent to the ER. Thankfully all tests done came back with all good results and was released after hours. Glad we all got back home before or around 2 am in the morning.
Days became weeks and I slowed down on Steemit. Not only there were days it was discouraging to do any activity but I would log in often to just give upvotes, which only worth 2 or 1 cent as the worth of my upvote became that low. At least I got to used it as I don't want it to go to waste specially when my voting power is fully charge. I also got so much more in my plate of to do list from doing most of the house chores to giving personal care and attending to one of my parents. The first month was specially hard as not only it was a new setting for us, but emotionally hard as well when things like this happens. I'm not used to having or seeing one of my parents in this kind of situation.
February came in and days were as usual - home and errands from grocery stores to picking up medicine refills which just don't happen on their expected hour that medicines are ready, adding extra wait time. With of course phone calls to make to take care of things from leave of absence, calling the insurance, paying premiums and such to setting up appointments. I hate making phone calls but entertaining the thought that this could be a positive experience as well for me to get used to making phone calls and just talking to people on the other line.
And speaking of appointments, it was the month of driving dad to his appointment to have his mole checked as suggested by their primary doctor. But before that, first thing first, making sure the car is in perfect condition having its battery checked at the nearest Auto Zone where I got it as it was taking some time to start but not often.
Having my battery check at Auto Zone February 8. Got a new battery as it is within warranty
After that, back to the appointment. Driving to East Lake it is. I'm not often in this area but I can't say I'm ot unfamiliar either and I do prefer driving here than near downtown area. I'm just not into the atmosphere and I hate worrying about where to park where mostly are paid parking.
Lots of parking spaces and I love it - at East Lake February 11, 2019
We didn't take that long in dad's appointment. No patient in the lobby when we arrived and he was being attended to in no time. Glad to be back in the first floor though after that. And did I say we took a little walk trying to find where the suite is? But yes we did and these two young trees in display of beautiful white blossoms are a treat! So when we got back in the parking lot, I took the chance of taking a shotdespite the sun being too bright. It was late in the afternoon and the sun was just about to set.
Beautiful in white blossoms heralding the oncoming spring season
And on the day before the last day of February, it was another appointment, neurology consultation where it was a relief after we got over it and back home safely. And I took side street route. :D The neurologist was nice and friendly, a bonus that they weren't busy and we were the only patient in the waiting area. After the ordered blood tests which we decided to do on the Lab Corp on the first floor, yes thankfully there's a Lab Corp just down there is a relief as well as it was our first time in the area, not familiar in there,* we're happy to just head back home, the three of us.

And on the last day of the month, boyfriend went to vacation in the Philippines. Philippine time which means another time and less time to talk to each other but that's fine. Excited for him always. ;)
With the month of March, nothing much changed. Still the same daily routine but getting the hang of it. Getting tighter when it comes to money matters with all the unexpected expenses but thankful for all the blessings despite the situation and I'm keeping up with my promise to Papa Jesus. :) I can only wish health and healing as always for my loved ones.
There's a little bit more to add but since this is already long enough, I'll save the rest for my next ulog post.
