The vague behavior of an individual mostly unnoticed, dejected, despondent during the silent time a person is in desperate need to resolve it.

This particular behavior isn't easy to detect while pretending to be in control but the intrinsic core is really having in trouble. There may be an implied impression unnoticed most of the time because it will be an embarrassment to ask for help.

I have seen this kind of demeanor from teenagers to adults. It's unbearable to see them suffer. I have a family friend back when I was young, he often makes fun of me, cracked jokes, we had a good time being together, but his gestures tells otherwise. When he is drunk I can see his face is in pain, he's life isn't ecstatic, joyful, in fact he never had any of these traits when he was separated with his wife. He became a different person when his wife had another man. I think they had a daughter with his former wife. Whenever he visited us he really is not in himself as if you're talking to him in another dimension. He talks nonsense most of the time. I can't remember talking him without bitterness when we had our conversation. He's too far out when you are with him. I haven't seen him in many years and I don't have any news about his whereabouts. I hope he's doing good getting old.

There is always a big hole in their life that creates a vacuum of uncertainties after the grief. I wish I can help my friend, though I never heard him called me his friend. Well, I hope he's alright, maybe he had a new life or in a relationship, building his self esteem again, broadening his perception of getting back in reality, gathering every bits and pieces of his shattered life and moving on to new a beginning . I don't judge him, no, I'm not that dude.
