Ulog #10- Remembering my visit to Madrid

in ulog •  6 years ago  (edited)
As soon as I arrived in Madrid, came to my mind the popular expression that says "From Madrid to heaven, and in the sky, a little hole to see it" , I was in this beautiful city in summer and the truth is that I enjoyed it very much, the food is great and let alone the spirits :). The streets of Madrid are the best place to go for cañas and eat. Friends of Steemit, in this post I show you some pictures of my time in Madrid, the capital of Spain.

A sunny afternoon in front of the Puerta de Alcalá, is one of the five ancient royal doors that gave access to the city of Madrid, located in the center of the roundabout of the Plaza de la Independencia. Madrid. Nestled in an open area, green and very accessible.

The Puerta de Alcalá

Plaza de Cibeles

The square is presided over by a beautiful fountain that represents the goddess Cibeles on a car drawn by lions. Located in the center of the city, at the crossroads between the Paseo del Prado and Calle Alcalá, Plaza de Cibeles is one of the most representative areas of Madrid.

The Buen Retiro Park

It is perfect to walk, enjoy the good weather, take a boat ride on the artificial lake that is next to the Monument to Alfonso XII or for a picnic.

Plaza Mayor

The square is completely closed by residential buildings of three floors, with 237 balconies that overlook the square. One of the most famous buildings is the beautiful Casa de la Panadería, one of those great little architectural secrets that you have to see in Madrid.

Royal Palace

The Royal Palace of Madrid is the official residence of the King, although he does not live there and is basically used for State ceremonies. It is truly impressive, a perfect example of Baroque architecture.

Reina Sofía Museum

The Reina Sofía National Art Center Museum is very close to the Prado Museum and is the perfect complement. After a dose of classical art, it is the turn of contemporary art. This old neoclassical hospital of the 18th century is the southern vertex of the "Art Triangle of Madrid".

Roundabout Don Juan de Borbón in the Campo de las Naciones (next to Juan Carlos I Park).

My Steemians, getting bored in Madrid is unthinkable, the streets of this metropolis, full of history, are full of culture and full of vitality. There are many reasons to visit Madrid: its monuments and fountains, its squares and parks and the beauty of its authentic neighborhoods where it is possible to enjoy a good wine accompanied by a delicious tapa at any time. I can not wait to go back to Madrid ...
