AN EPIC WEEKEND IN DARTMOUTH, NOVA SCOTIA - ULOG#6

All true Canadians know and appreciate July 1. That is when we happily celebrate Canada's birthday. I have been living in Canada for a long time, most of it in Ontario. There always was a celebration somewhere. But nowhere have I seen one like the one in Dartmouth. I find everything is like that here in the East Coast. Go big or go home. Such community spirit.

IT WAS EPIC .............

In fact Canadian Running Magazine has now stated that the runs and celebrations in Dartmouth are the best in Canada. I was now informed by email that it was the most populated of all celebrations across Canada. Way to go!!!!

The whole big bang started on Friday at 7 for a 6.1K run around Lake Banook and Sullivan's Pond. It was very hot but so much fun.

Then there was beer and BBQ and all kinds of food and music and the big shebang. Fireworks. The music we enjoyed so much was none other than the Mellotones.

Back again we were Saturday morning at 9 for a 5K run around Lake Banook. Boy was it hot. More food, more beer, snow cones (much to each runners delight) and music to enjoy from the Urban Surf Kings.

Back again Sunday morning 8:30 sharp. This time it was a little cooler and somewhat cloudy. A perfect morning for a 10.1K run around Lake Banook, through Shubie Park and along Mic Mac Lake.

What better way to finish the whole thing off other than a piece of birthday cake.

I was so thrilled and grateful to once again be a part of this very enjoyable event. Thank you Dartmouth, Epic Canada and Run Nova Scotia.
