Betrayed by Biology

I've been dealing with a terrible case of stiff neck for two days now, and it does not seem to be getting any better. As a matter of fact, it seems to be moving down towards the middle of my back, resulting in making me putting on a shirt a task that takes minutes instead of seconds.

I've tried all the regular things people talk about, hot towel, ice, long hot shower, and two different eucalyptus products for topical application, and it's done nothing to it. As a matter of fact, I'm feeling somewhat sympathetic to Edgar the bug at this point in time. I'm not begging people for sugar water, but that's about the only difference between him and I at the moment.

I've resorted to making a little phone call today, with the idea of scoring some CBD. Will it work? I don't know, but you know what does suck big time? Not being able to sleep well, and two days is two days too many.

Wish me luck!

I wish you luck. I haven't slept for years now. I no longer have the ability to. So yes two days is two days too long. I am like a 60 year old in how my body has aged because of no sleep and pains 247 all body long. I wish you luck and i would pray as well. If you have skype, i would like to call you, when you can. I want to speak of my projects. I intend to reach some 1k people via video call. Can you add me, i believe you will find me with '[email protected]' or i can add you

Greetings @ meno

It may be due to the rain.

To the rain of years that time makes feel over! Heh, heh, heh.

You have to take care, changing the routine helps. Constant positions generate fatigue over time. The change of routines allows the recovery of the affected areas.

Stiff neck? All I can think of is this.

That is awful as I have had it happen a couple of times and it comes down to a day or two resting. Good luck with alternatives!

I have worked construction for decades with 4 herniated, one ruptured disc, and a pinched nerve. I completely empathize my friend. For me, opiate narcotics have been the necessary resort, although therapeutic massage did completely resolve/cure sciatica. That would be my recommendation to you: see either a chiropractor or a competent masseuse (not the happy ending kind), as my discomfort has always been reduced thereby.

Unless you are aware of a particular injury, it is likely that you have a muscle out of place, and in order to protect your spine, the surrounding muscles have swollen and seized up to prevent it from doing damage. It will likely pass in time, but manipulation by a competent professional has effected dramatic improvement for me in the past.

My sympathies, and best wishes for your swift and complete restoration to vigor!

Did you try rolling out any muscles? Get one of those cylindrical rollers and roll out your back and everything else (: could help. It’s also 4/20 tomorrow.... Just sayin.......... 😜 Also try to not bend your neck down to look at your phone like some people do. That will make you go full hunchback mode lol...

Sorry to hear about the stiff neck and I really wish you a quick recovery. Why not consider seeing a doctor for that.
I wish you luck

It's pretty painful to have stiff neck (I'm frequently had it due to my unawareness sleeping position)

If I woke up found myself having stiff neck again, I will quickly use a hair dryer and blow it on my neck + shoulder area for at least 15-20 minutes twice a day.

The pain is gradually gone within 1-2 days. Hope it helps you there @meno

Get well soon...

Good trick,thanks

My former roommate sells CBD. Let me know if you need more. Have you thought about a chiropractor?

I need to find a chiropractor down here for sure... I used to have an awesome one growing up and since I was big into sports i kind of needed it. Now it would be for different reasons ,but yaaa

Did you move or in the same place? I used to go to one in Boca that I really liked. Let me know and I can send you his info.

Hello,
did you ever tried Thai massage?
For me it helped a lot, in Germany they want to operate me, I had a lot of problems with that...
Since I live in Thailand, maybe one time a year, then I go to Thai massage and it's ok again...
Swimming also helps a lot..
Get well soon

Hey, @meno.

Having the pain move around isn't something that normally happens to you is it? That sounds like something that's originated elsewhere, but has extended so far that it feels like it's coming from a place where it's not. Which means something could be pinched somewhere else and sending false signals.

Regardless, I hope you've found your cure by now. Can't be fun, especially not being able to rest.

The neck pain I've had generally comes from not sleeping right, and it can be tough to get it right, since the twisting took place while I wasn't aware of it.

If sugar water does relieve what ails you let me know. I'd like to try it. :) I hope you get well soon.

Thanks for the kind wishes glenal ... I did wake up today feeling better.
