Doing Good while sacrificing the best.
Yesterday I learned that a local Filipino friend of mine was in the hospital. I had not learned which of the 5 hospitals in the area, so I couldn’t yet go visit him. I sent him a text message and no reply, so I headed to my normal Monday evening with many local pastors for praying, worship, a meal and fellowship. I have done this, most every week, for three years.
I believe many times we are doing a routine that is good, but we need to bbe flexible for God. He can always change our routine, but some times we are so set in our ways, that even God doesn’t get our attention to take us to what is best for that day. I am not speaking of being undependable. To be clear we should be regular in attendance of our commitments. I still went to the pastor’s meeting.
While I was at the pastor’s meeting I got a text. My friend telling me the problem and which hospital and room number. I told the brethren I had a friend I needed to visit and asked them for prayer and then I left. My friend has three young girls so I went to the store to buy some snacks for the kids, in case they were there visiting dad.
Hospitals here are nowhere near it being even similar to a hospital in the USA, Canada, the UK or any other country like those mentioned. For instance the cat!
After I had been visiting with my friend for over ten minutes, I looked across the room and saw a cat. I questioned my friend about the cat. He said they have quite a few cats that live inside the hospital.
Interesting!
This is actually one of the nicer hospitals in the area. It was stifling hot in the room, but there were only 5 more beds in the room. Some of the other “State run” hospitals I have seen 30 patients in one room along visiting family. All sharing one bathroom! It is more fun in the Philippines. One day I was thinking of doing a post, kind of documentary on that place. Patients in every hallway and corridor.
But this is the Positivity post!
So this is my friend and the next photo is his beautiful family as they came to our house to visit.
As usual, whenever I go to the hospital, the other people in the room see that we are praying for our friend and also ask for prayer. This is the Best I was speaking of. We can be in bible studies, watching preaching on TV, or blogging our teachings in the cyber world. Church attendance, Bible study and prayer are vitally important, but sometimes we have to touch the tangible world with the Love of Jesus! This part is the Best!
Each person in the room signaled for me to come and pray. Some visibly touched, just by someone paying attention to them and caring that they are there and willing to take time to talk woth them and pray.
After I left the room, there was a child, probably 2 years old. With an IV. The father was holding the IV bottle, the mother holding their son. I was walking by and what I didn’t immediately realize, they were patiently waiting for me to come and pray for their boy. When I got near them they were too shy to say something to me. I almost passed by, but I turned back and asked what was wrong and if they would like prayer.
As I was praying for the boy and for his parents, (The boy had dengue fever), a 15 year old young lady waited until we were finished and approached me with a ton of questions about Jesus. So this is what I live for! This missionary is happy, blessed to be here. I am very simple to please.
Faith in God, Family, Friends, and the Lord’s Work is all that takes to make me content and happy.
My new friend!
Thank you for your time!
God bless!

I have been posting with busy and for the last few days some are upside down. They were fine on the preview and still look fine when viewed on busy. Some upside down on Steemit. No problem before recently.
I went back to see my friend today and he is much better!
Thank you brother!
