Here comes the most anticipated day of the team as we launched our 2nd year Beach Outing at Karancho Beach here in Lapu-Lapu City. The day was filled with laughters, smiles and competitions as each team battles it out for that one major prize. I've seen them really going at it just to win the expected reward that may turn their world up side down. Hahaha (such exaggeration). Resilience, Competitiveness and Teamwork are what I've observed from these young people. It's like indeed the character of discipline has been rooted in them even in there whereabouts outside.

As I've mentioned in my previous blogs, going out together as this is already a big break for all of us as we were kept busy for the past couple of weeks from orchestral practices that we did not feel the breeze of summer like before. That's why when we knew that we can still fit in this beach outing despite our schedules, then we definitely make the most out of it by commencing fun and interactive games that everyone can enjoy in this fun-filled outing.

So folks, here are the following games which navigate these young people to competitive versions of themselves.

1. Looking for your fellow Animal Sounds.

Mechanics: Each team will choose an animal sound that they would like to mimic. After it, each member of the team is asked to be blindfolded and be randomly scattered on the area while the blind fold is on them. As the game master blows the whistle, everyone will now then move in search for their fellow animal by sounding its animal sound. Whoever group is first to be completely formed shall be declared the winner.

Heart, being left alone from her flocks and scared to move from falling.

The scenario when the game master blows the whistle. Everyone were now banging each other in search for their own kind. Hahahaha.

2. Parts of the Body.

Mechanics: With the same group, each member is assigned of a specific body part that they will draw on the illustration board. However, the twist is they will do it while being blind folded. The first person in the line will have to draw the body part he/she is assigned to with blindfolds, so the next person should remember the position or where did that body part of the first person drew to be able to connect the next body part he/she is assigned to before being blindfolded.

3. Rope Relay

Mechanics: All of the team members will hold hands together for this game. A rope is given to the first person in the line and relay it to the next by moving your bodies in a wave-like until it reached to the last person. When the rope reached to the last person, they will do it now in vice-versa until it reached back to the first person. Note:They will do it without unholding their hands the whole time of relaying it. Whoever is the first team to do it will be automatically the winner.

Kiefer, all out in relaying the rope to his mate blessy. Such a lovely sight because Kiefer, is used to be a very silent guy but wait until you asked him for a rope relay. Hahahaha.

Skills and Traits Developed: Control and Discipline

4. Silent Message Relay

april_2018-06-01-12-20-27-267.jpg
Mechanics: Like the conventional way of Message Relay, the first person will pass the message to the next person until it reached to the last person and writes the message that has been relayed to him/her. However, instead of doing it through whispers, they will do it through lipsink which means no sounds produced but only relying on the figure of enunciation from the person carrying the message. The group who gets most of the precise answer is declared the winner.

5. Water Relay using Straws

Mechanics: Each member will have their own straw for this game. What they will do is they will get a water from a container in front of them using the straw in their mouth and transfer it to the next container which they will still travel to a distance. The strategy here is on how to hold the water in your straw through pressure. They will do it one per each team at the same time. After their turns, they go back to the next person in line to tap him/her and continue the filling of water. The team to gather the highest water level in 15 minutes will automatically be the declared winner.

Indeed, this time is very refreshing to us not just because we were able to go out and celebrate this day but most importantly we can enjoy each other's company the whole day. Anyway the goal of each team is to establish bond and unity among its members, so we highly put our concern on that area that we may become individuals.

Thanks Everyone and may you enjoy our Way of Celebrating the Summer Season. If you have beach games that are truly fun to unforgettable, kindly drop a message down and let's also have some fun discussing about it. Shalom
