ULOG #7: I Found My Essential Oils Haven!

in ulog •  6 years ago

Hello, everyone! I hope my fellow Filipino steemians are doing fine despite the flood and non-stop rain. Thankfully, the streets on our area aren't heavily flooded because the drainage system was fixed a few years ago. However, just like before, water had already accumulated in our backyard and has reached our laundry area. The water is around 4 inches away from entering our house. Oh my gosh. I hope the rain won't pour continuously. I hope the proceeding low pressure area would just vanish. I love rain but too much is not what I am wishing for. Last night, my friend who lives in the same town as mine sent me photos of her home being flooded. It was already about knee-deep. Pretty sure the flood had risen more by now due to constant rain.

My mom and I went to the grocery awhile ago, and of course, most of the roads were flooded especially in Dagupan City. I just thank the skies because it didn't rain while we were traveling. We rode a jeepney to Dagupan City and I'm quite disappointed with the jeepney driver because I think he was choosing passengers. While we were on the highway, a man who seem to be working as a construction worker raised his hand for the jeepney to stop but the jeepney driver waved his hand a little above the steering wheel to say that he can't accommodate him (even though the jeepney still has a space for one person.) Then when we turned to a corner, he beeped on a man walking on the street, slowed down to check if he wants to ride. The man didn't ride the jeepney. (Karma is real and fast. Haha.)

Before we went to the mall to buy groceries, we headed first to Human Nature in Tapuac to buy peppermint oil. Just to let you know, I've been searching where to buy peppermint oil near my area and thank God Human Nature has it! They also have other essential oils on their list. But I was first hesitant to visit the store today because I'm afraid that the area is flooded. I know Tapuac is a flood-prone area. I know because I go to a school on that area during elementary and my experiences during rainy season back in those years was memorable, like the entire Tapuac District turns into a pond. But what I saw awhile ago was different. Only few areas was flooded and the area where Human Nature is isn't flooded. Looks like the drainage system they made 5 years ago worked this time!

So we entered the Human Nature store and I told the lady sitting at the front desk that I am purchasing a peppermint oil. As I was paying for the item, my mom asked me if they also have rosemary oil. Since I am a shy person I told my mom to ask the staff instead. Hahaha! So my mom asked it herself after I paid for my purchase, and surprise! They have it too! We were led to the farthest area of the store where the essential oils are displayed. My mom was examining the sample bottle of rosemary oil then later on asked me to buy one for her. Lol. I now confirm whom I got this impulse buying attitude from!

The peppermint oil costs Php 350 ($6.56 USD) while the rosemary oil costs Php 295 ($5.53 USD).

Do you know why I've been dying to buy a peppermint oil? Because the smell of peppermint oil can drive away spiders! Aside from warding off ants and bugs, and giving a pleasant smell at home, a lot of articles say this is effective against spiders so I have a very high expectation with this oil. Haha! The spiders last week had triggered me so much. Spiders will now feel my wrath! (cynical laugh) I'll begin my revenge tomorrow and observe if the tiny spiders at the corners evacuate. If they do, then I'll probably stock more peppermint oil in the future! Lol. I also plan to buy a humidifier next time, maybe after I purchase the Jollibee Funko. By the way, I love the scent of peppermint so much I think it even left some of its scent inside my bag even though it wasn't opened. Haha! I opened it just awhile ago and the smell is still stuck in my nose.

Here's what we ate for dinner after going to the grocery. Ohlala what is diet? This is the first time our McCafe cups didn't have covers but it's fine because the trash to be thrown will be lessened. Hehe. And as usual, our filet-o-fish was still being prepared. After eating, we went around the trade fair at the mall's atrium. My mom was looking for the Ilokano food stalls to buy kwek kwek but sadly, they weren't here this time. However, I saw something which I want to buy while we were looking around. Haha! My mom told me to buy it but I told her I'll buy it next time we go there. (I feel like we spent so much today, the groceries, dinner, and essential oils. Haha!) The trade fair will be there until the 26th. I'll make sure to drop by before the 26th!
