I had a very fruitful day off today! As I have mentioned in my Ulog Day 73 post, I planned to clean my disaster of a room... and I survived!
I started cleaning at around 10 in the morning and I finished at around 5 in the afternoon. All in all, it took me around 7 hours to clean it. My room is just a small room, but I have a lot of stuff like anime-related stuff (figurines, magazines, doujinshi, etc), novels and other books, art materials, stuff for Japanese study and other writings and of course, my personal stuff.
Despite being a small room, it is a place where I can do everything! <3 I literally live, work, play and do other stuff here. In my daily life, I stay in this room all the time except during meal time, bath time and a little family time. Maybe if I didn't work online, I'll be a "hikikomori"... well, I did have that period. Hahaha~ I'm more sociable now than I used to, though I get tired quickly when I do. lol
Oh well, without further ado, let's start the tour. <3
This is the first part which I cleaned because it's in a higher place and it's the part of my room which needs a lot of time to be cleaned because not only do I have to clean the shelf, but also the stuff inside it. Take a look at how it used to look before cleaning below.
As I have mentioned in my previous post, the reason why I placed a manila paper on my stuff was to protect them from the sawdust caused by installing a bigger exhaust fan.
When I took out the stuff, there were sawdust and even some small pieces of wood in it. I had to take them out and scrubbed the shelf clean.
TADA!!! It's now shiny and ready. However, before that, I had to clean all the items before putting them back. These items are my collection. I'll show them to you by group. Here's how dusty they were.
I cleaned them using wet tissue and a clean washcloth.
And now, let me show you the clean and dust-free version of my lovely collection. Let's start with the anime figurines.
I got a boxed Hibari Kyoya figurine all the way from Japan. My Japanese friend who used to own a cafe here in Cebu gave this to me as a thank you gift for helping him out in the planning, designing and promoting his cafe. Ahh~ I miss his cafe. Now he's back in Japan with his Filipino wife and a very cute baby. <3
I also have this cute One Piece watch which was given to me by my Korean student on my birthday. <3 I was really surprised when I got it and it obviously made me really happy.
My collection of novels. Most of them are written by Michael Connelly, John Saul and Stephen King. To be honest, I haven't read most of them. The novels I've read were borrowed by my friends... who knows when I'll get them back? hahaha~
Above is my collection of Otakuzine and Anime Recommendation magazines. I really love collecting them, but recently, I haven't bought any. I guess the last time I bought was earlier this year when I went to get my certificate for TESOL.. hihi~
Bigger size magazine... they're my Otaku Vault and Anime Asia magazines.
Above are music-related magazines. Actually, these are pretty old, but I really like the featured artists in these magazines that's why I decided to buy and keep them.
My idols... This Wink Up magazine is a gift I got from a Japanese friend on my birthday. She knows how crazy I am about Tegoshi Yuya, so she sent me a magazine with Tego as the cover. In this magazine, there are two free posters... but I didn't use them. hihihi~
The other one is a small photobook of my favorite cosplayer Reika Arikawa which I bought during CosMaze event 5 years ago. It was also the first time I saw Reika in person. <3
My BL collection!!! <3 My Japanese senpai gave me these. This senpai of mine is the business partner of my Japanese friend who had a cafe in Cebu. His daughter is a fujoshi like me, so when she knew his father was coming to Cebu to meet me, she chose these BL doujinshi for me. <3
It was so embarrassing when senpai handed me these in a cafe. There were a lot of people around and saw the covers... hahah~ My Japanese friend, his wife, senpai and another friend were laughing at me that time. hahaxDD It was crazy~~ xD
Anyway, so much for my collections.... Let's get back to cleaning.
Here's what my dresser looked like prior to cleaning. Everything's messy and you can't even see yourself in the mirror... hahaha~ And here's how it looks now. <3
Next up would be my art materials and my drawing table. Before, this is how messy it looked.
And now, I placed my art materials on my small table and on my drawing table, I only have the stuff I usually use like my clipboard, calligraphy pad, watercolor pad and my sketchpad. You may check the pictures below. <3
Next in line is my study table. Here's how it used to look like.
And now, I only got my organizer, Japanese-English and English-Japanese dictionary and writing notebooks on it. You can also see other books near the lamp... these are the books that I usually read or use. There's my Japanese book, a novel, Psychiatric nursing books and also a Psychology book.
Next up is my work desk. The "before" photo was a total mess.
But now, it's much more organized. I also brought my Tego Uchiwa in this place because sometimes it's super hot. He'll help me feel cooler. hahaha~ Here's how it looks like now. <3
Yaay~!! I'm really so happy with what I accomplished today. Although I only cleaned on my day off, I feel fulfilled and happy. I'm ready to work again tomorrow! hihihi~
And ohh! Here's a bonus picture... I tried to make my "Calligraphy Corner" more attractive. Here's how it looks now.
I am more attracted to my room now. I bet I'll be staying here more than I already used to. This is indeed my sanctuary... my peace of mind. <3
I hope you enjoyed the tour and the changes. Thank you for reading and have a great one! I have to update myself with my anime now... <3 See you~! <3
