Today is supposed to be the eve of my wedding. I am going to pen this ulog on the day itself. I am going to pen my bachelor’s party here too. Tomorrow, I am going to be officially married to BabyBoo. There is no sense of nervousness. Just a sense of assurance that everything is going to go well. That God will be there to bless our union and the start of a life together. I understand that the journey will never be easy. I already signed up for that being a human. All that is to come will need my utmost confidence that all will just be well. Everything will be okay. In this mode, my skin will not flake. My eczema will not flair. I will not speak like a crazy idiot. I do when I cannot calm down.
On this very day, I did not sleep at all. I tried. But I couldn’t. My whole family including my mom and brother slept very little.
There were a lot of things that were not where it was supposed to be.
The pillow for the ring was missing. So everyone has to go back to the house to search for it.
There was a rehearsal at the church before a steamboat dinner with the bridesmaids and groomsmen. We had a good time chatting right after the rehearsal.
My cousin, Tim, did the reading and he was surely sweating buckets. The lady in charge of the mass gave him quite a hard time teaching to preach the word of God instead of just reading scripture. Honestly, it was just a rehearsal and Tim could have done a lot better when the time came.
For crying out loud, it was a rehearsal. But Tim was too casual and I don’t know whether he will read it well enough for the real thing.
I was shaking speaking into the mic thinking when will the ‘strict lady’ be shouting at me next.
I spent the night at the Evergreen hotel where we would be having our wedding dinner. Things were moving along just fine. Hamsters were transported to the bride’s residence. All my babies in the form of soft toys were all properly brought up to the hotel room.
I didn’t sleep and tomorrow is the big day.
I guess I will be calm and just make the 21st of September, the biggest day of my life.
