#ULOG: about my day at our school engineering practical work shop.

Firstly am grateful and thankful to jehovah who has used @surpassinggoogle and also given him the knowledge to be able to run a project called #ulogs, so that we can be able to make posts about our daily activities. Always pray make Jehovah keep him safe and sound. Amen

Today am going to talk about little review of the practical we were able to carried out in our school engineering machine practical work shop.

Once again as I have already introduced myself before now, my name is ebado samuel, from Nigeria delta state and I school at Delta state polytechnic otefe oghara, and an electrical/electronic engineering student.

In our work shop today we carried out experiment called star and delta connection and measurement of their resistance, today was able to know about star and delta connection, the way star and delta connection is connected.

star connection

I know you want to ask what is star connection wait we are coming to that, In STAR connection , the starting or finishing ends (Similar ends) of three phases(coils) are connected together to form the neutral point. A common wire is taken out from the neutral point which is called Neutral.There is no such connection in Delta network. Star connections are found inside motors that has rotors and armature, such as d.c and a.c 3 phase motors, alternators e.t.c.

Delta connection

In the delta connection, there is three wires alone and there is no neutral terminal.
Normally delta connection is preferred for short distance due to the problem of unbalanced current in the circuit.
In the Delta connection, the opposite ends of three coils are connected together. What am trying to say is that, the end of each coil is connected with the start of another coil, and three wires are out from the coil joints, delta connections are found inside motors that has rotors and armature, such as d.c and a.c 3 phase motors, alternators e.t.c.

The star and delta connections are connected with the help of connectors or plate connectors. The star connection is connected in series while the delta connection is connected is parrel connection.

The resistance of the star and delta connections are measured with the help of a multimeter.

how to take resistance measurement of the star and delta connections.

Firstly you take your multimeter, plug the red and black prob of the multimeter and then go ahead and witched On your multimeter, then switch the multimeter to continuity with help of the round switch button in the center of the multimeter, after then make you connections either delta or star, you can now go ahead with the prob red and black, it also called position and negative prob to take each of the terminals of the machine connections.
