Studying Web Design & Updating CSS / HTML5 Skills

I've been trying to post The Dood Report nightly. It's a nightly report of the day's cryptocurrency headlines. Last night I fell asleep while studying HTML5 on the SoloLearn App :( I only had like 6 more small sections to go before I got my certificate too! I was planning on finishing it last night. Oh well. Maybe I'll get through the last few parts tonight!

I've been messing around with HTML since the mid-'90s.I do freelance web design on the side. I have a decent understanding of creating websites and basic design. Recently, I brought on a local real estate developer as a client and I wanted to get out of my comfort zone, impress the client, and put together something extra nice. The website should be up in the next month or so. I'm currently waiting on floor plans, and photos as the construction projects are currently under development.

In the meantime, I've put together the basic framework of the website and decided to update my HTML and CSS skills. Let's face it a lot changed in the last 20 years, and I haven't really kept up with all the latest changes. I signed up for a bunch of CSS3 and HTML5 boot camps and I'm really happy I did. I've learned so much over the last couple weeks. Especially CSS. I've struggled with CSS for a while now, and my comfort level with the style-sheet language is growing daily.

One of my favorite study apps for HTML and CSS is the SoloLearn Coding App. I've been using it each night before I go to sleep. The app features many different coding languages including HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript. I also started a Python tutorial on there that I still have to finish.

The HTML and CSS section of the app is fantastic. It covers all different aspects of the language, then quizzes you with multiple choice questions, and fill in the blanks for coding. Parts of it are challenging, and at the end, you're awarded a certificate for completing the course. Hopefully, I'll be able to post one of the certificates in the next day or so.

I honestly had no idea there were so many new tags and features in HTML5. I learned so much, and I'm really happy I took the course. I now have so many new tools in my H5 / CSS3 arsenal :)

Somebody asked me the other day if I thought the coding boot camp programs worked. I honestly think they're great programs for people that already have a good basic understanding of any language. If you understand the basics and fundamentals of the code, the boot camp will show you all the awesome features the code offers and what you can actually do with it. The camps do this in a quick format so it doesn't take you months on end to learn. I don't think the boot camps are great for beginners unless you're a really quick learner. For me, I need to understand the basics first, then learn everything you can do later.

For me solo-learn is one of the bests programs that explain everything in very easy way. Also it has the forum with another students that speaks in different languages, so it easy to get explanations

The forums are great. Definitely a great part of the app. I've been stumped a few times and the forum is always very helpful.
