Buccaneers Den, or Buccs Den as we all called it, was the name of an island in the middle of the ocean on the best online MMORPG ever made, Ultima Online.
The island was just west of New Magincia and is a roaming ground for all pirates, criminals and murderers.
Lawful characters would usually stay away from Buccs Den unless they were going there to try and kill some evil players. Illegal gambling and prostitution goes on there and there is a cave there where the most evil players would hide themselves from the daylight.
I used to hang out there with my thief and pick everyones pockets when they stood near the harbor and then I would run for my life..... My thief had no real fighting power but if he stabbed you with his deadly poisoned dagger it could kill you in seconds if you weren't ready for it.
So many fun times in this game... the only game that could get your heart pounding in your chest at the thought of losing everything you worked hard to get in your backpack.... The thought of looting the backpack of that person in front of you or just having a good old fashioned duel.
I feel like too many games have lost the realism that this game brought to the table.... real consequences and real rewards. Too many games nowadays appeal to the new style of gamer that wants rewards and wants them now and hard work isn't going to happen they would rather pull out a credit card and get instant success now.
Bring back the old way of online pvp!
