Ultima Online was hands-down the best online MMORPG in existence... it was also one of the first big ones out there in the late 90's. This game was incredible and so much work was put into it it's almost hard to get bored when you have so much crafting, adventuring and PVP'ing to do....
Well you don't have to just wish the glory days were still here... YOU CAN STILL PLAY ULTIMA ONLINE right now... I think the absolute best server still out there (has been around for MANY years) is the UOGamers Hybrid server.
It is a server that is patched up to Renaissance patch and they make it a point to trash Trammel and assure people that there will never be a watered down UO Trammel instance on their private server. Felucca is the only world there is so if you go into a dangerous place you can't be fully protected and play the game in what many people called the biggest downfall of the game.
Trammel sort of took away all the fun and heart-pounding adventure and made it to where you where almost fully protected from dying or being PK'd (player killed in pvp). At this point in the game you could also put insurance on your gear so that people couldn't take it if they killed you.
UOGamers Hybrid is all the GOOD with UO with almost none of the bad.... I've played other UO servers that just don't save your progress so you wake up the next day missing a lot of stuff or all that leveling up your skills didn't save.... I've never run into that problem with UOGamers.
