Had this one my Facebook feed this morning. Read and share - this is what running motivation/determination and inspiration is really about. And you'll never hear about this man or any of the other runners in the Self-transcendence race when sports 'experts' talk about greatness. The "3100 Mile Self Transcendence race" has ended.
Meet my man of the hour
-Meet Ushika Last year he ran the 'Self Transcendence 3100 race mile' with me .
We were both novices to the challenge and finished the race for the first time.
I am the 42nd finisher of the race history and he is the 43rd finisher.
The '3100 Mile Self-Transcendence race' is a race of the spirit, psychically you can't train for it, as you start the race your soul is the one who needs to overcome the distance. you 'must" transcend above your body limitations - you will always meet yourself for better or worse.
In order to finish the 3100 mile race ,you need to run every day around 100 km for 52 days!!!
Ushika who returned this year for the 2019 edition would not meet the distance target of the race.
In a goal-oriented Western approach, it was possible to see after a few weeks- that the distance target would not be reached by him.
Ushika knew it to, the "right" choice western style for him was to stop the race, preserve his body, save financial resources, and to return home from New York and try the race again next year.
But, the 'The Self Transcendence 3100 mile' Race despite being held in New York = the core of Western civilization represents something else/more.
The approach that body is only a vessel for the journey of internal pilgrimage into your soul.
Ushika continued from day to day carrying the torch of enthusiasm from his inner pilgrimage.
Today was the final day of the 52 cut off of the race.
Ushika did not made the cut!
He run an amazing total of 2775 miles out of 3100 miles.
But he never, ever gave up!!!
He went on to fight a battle that was "lost" on the outside but lived and prospered on the inside🙏🙏🙏🙏
What would you do in a long and tedious race situation that costs you a great deal of energy, money, and longing for your family.
Would you continue on a race having the knowledge that a mission would not be completed or would you go home, give up and stop the pain ?

I'd love to say or think that I would push on, mile after long and painful mile, for 52 days but my will and determination would most likely fail me. Someday I hope to prove myself wrong.
