Opener Danushka Gunathilaka scored a top 57 career and despite a teenage Pakistan paceman hat trick, Mohammad Hasnain Sri Lanka posted a daunting 165-5 in their twenty overs.Fast bowlers Isuru Udana (3-11) and Nuwan Pradeep (3-21) then demolished Pakistan in 17.4 overs to give Sri Lanka a 1-0 lead in the three-game series.In the second place, Pradeep had world number one Twenty20 batsman Babar Azam to set the stage in 19 bilateral matches for their biggest victory against Pakistan. Pakistan needed Azam’s large innings which promised a lot with two boundaries but was caught off Pradeep.

Playing in the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore against Sri Lanka on Saturday, Akmal left his fans frustrated again and they witnessed him being dismissed from the very first ball coming down to the one-wicket crease.This was the ninth time in Twenty20 internationals that Akmal was dismissed for naught— the number of ducks in the format by any Pakistani.
Akmal beat the previous record of eight ducks in T20is by former Pakistani captain Shahid Afridi.At Abu Dhabi on September 27, 2016, Umar Akmal, who has an experience playing 83 T20I games, played his last T20I game against West Indies.Pakistan’s’ bad boy ‘ cricket, pleased to be included in today’s T20I national team, had said three days ago that he would do well in the game.
Yet Akmal wasn’t the only Pakistani tonight to be disappointed.After facing only 9 deliveries at the crease, Ahmed Shahzad, who also returned to the national team tonight after an absence of more than a year, was dismissed for a paltry 4 runs.
